I have vinyl and wood and tile floors that go on fooorever..........  I hate to wash floors.  No more knees on the floors like I have done, cant /wont do it anymore. The mop and bucket,..........UGH!  The swiffer thing is ok, but only for a tiny little area.  I have finally found my calling.  Steam cleaners.  Holy cow, this has totally rocked my world (dont say anything about how sad this is).

omg, today i tried my new floor steamer.  WOW!  I literally ripped thru the house cleaning the kitchen, hall and laundry room under 15 minutes.  it dries nearly instantly.  i was so out of control i went to the living room to try out the wood floor.  holy cow, awesome, did the steps, onto the bathroom with white floor.  The only floor left is the family room.  amazing.  a tiny amount of water is all that is used, you merely push it across the floor, NO SCRUBBING, NO RUBBING.  when the pad is dirty you turn it upside down, and i have another one after that.  you positively owe it to yourself to own one of these.  no more buckets of water and and hands and knees.  the steam kills bacteria too!

After seeing how much mud and grime my puppy picked up on our walk today after the snow had melted, I am definately going to look into one of these. I of course toweled her off, but my floor was still a mess. Your timing was great!
Oh my!!!! This may end up rocking my world too!  I just showed it to Clark and told him this may have to be my next birthday gift!  Seriously nothing makes me feel like I have an icky house like dirty floors do and with one furry footed large dog and a spunky furry footed medium dog...well...clean floors are not a regular delicacy here.  Please update this in a few months so we know if you STILL love it!  I'm a hands and knees type of floor cleaner because I can't stand mopping but I love the disinfecting power of steam and this sounds like an affordable model!  I expected it an effective hard floor steamer to cost far more so I'm happy you love yours!
Adina, I can give you an update right now.  I have a steam cleaner that I swear by and have used it for almost a year.  I hand clean the floors and then go over them with the steam cleaner and I cannot believe all the additional grime that comes off without damaging the hardwood--we have maple and hickory inlaid floors.  I use mine on travertine tile as well and because it dries so quickly, there are no additional paw prints made by Phoebe as she trails after me trying to eat the steam that rises off the floors!
i researched for a long time before "suggesting the dh buy t his as a christmas gift."  i am so happy with the results, please  read the ratings in the amazon posts, not just me, but i'm happy as ever i give a 5 star rating.
I think the steam cleaner works great too, but in winter I have to use a mop first, maybe my brand isn't as good and we have a ton of hardwood to get to.  I will tell you what not to buy Hoover Floormate... ugh don't just don't!!
if you have areas that need scrubbed, you might find that corner of the  room looking for a wipe afterwards.  i have not cleaned my floors as I should have this past year, so i had some corners to clean up.  but seriously, my floors look awesome, i  cant  believe it.  you should vacuum first, then wash.

I have one (not this brand) and have used it for years!  Absolutely love it!  We are all hardwood but the kitchen is tile.  Make the transition smoothly and I honestly feels like it gets "clean".

This model looks great....it might just be time for a new one :)  Thanks for the recommendation Sharon~

Ha ha ha - FINALLY more people who understand the grief of dirty floors and the love of doodles.

Adina, you may want to take this to heart...last post I read from you was about how having clean floors was more important to you then not having dirty dishes in the sink.

Oh I see you have already been bitten by the bug - ha ha, seriously I thought of you first.

I love my steam cleaner too.  I have only hard floors except our bedroom.  It works so well, and even I can push it with my rotten back and I can't even push a large push broom.    I also find it soothing.  I think it might be because I know I would be on my hands and knees otherwise. LOL

I love my Haan floor steamer and wouldn't be without it.   It even came with a carpet glide for sanitizing rugs and carpets.   That sure came in handy with puppy accidents.

I have the Shark Vac and Steam, it is a little heavy but you do feel like your floors are really clean, just wish it would fit into tighter spots.
Steam Cleaners are the way to go!!!! I had mine for about a year now, with 2 doodles my floors get quite dirty. I do the hands and knees floor washing about once a month to get the woodwork etc. but for regular cleaning the steam is the way to go. I Love my steamer ;)
