There as been some recent discussion about dogs on the furniture and where your dogs sleep so I was just wondering are these the rules at your house.

 

Dog Rules
The dog is not allowed in the house.
Okay, the dog is allowed in the house, but only in certain rooms.
The dog is allowed in all rooms, but has to stay off the furniture.
The dog can get on the old furniture only.
Fine, the dog is allowed on all the furniture, but is not allowed to sleep with the humans on the bed.
Okay, the dog is allowed on the bed, but only by invitation.
The dog can sleep on the bed whenever he wants, but not under the covers.
The dog can sleep under the covers by invitation only
The dog can sleep under the covers every night.
Humans must ask permission to sleep under the covers with the dog.

You NAILED it Donna!   Very, very funny!!!   The only part that doesn't apply here is Banjo CHOOSES not to join his humans in bed.  We would WELCOME him....but, alas, he loves his crate!

I absolutely, positively draw the line at under the covers.  Guinness has a new thing.  Whenever DH or I get out of the bed, (potty trips during the night), he rushes to our "position" and takes it over with his head right on our pillow.  Then he gets really mad when we come back to bed and move him.  He goes "all lymph" just to make it a little more difficult, and of course there are the many 'mad noises" and disgusted sighs.  Lately, I just don't want to go through all that so I'm trying my best not to get up to "go".  This morning I was awake trying to "tell myself" that I could make it until it was time to get up for the day.  It's totally ridiculous, and I need to "get a grip".

That is exactly what Baxter does.  I also try to NOT get up.  I need to get a grip too!

Quincy gets on and off the bed several times during the night, for some reason he seems to prefer my side of the bed which leaves me with a small piece of the bed for myself. My DH says just move him and I say it's ok he'll get down soon and this was the dog who was not going to be allowed on the furniture. The dog rules.

Ha, Ha.  Yes to everything but under the covers but only because it is too hot for them to enjoy....  And yes to Jane's problem Ned is the position taker at our house.  Clancy likes to get on the bed, but not stay.  In his former life he must have slept on cement because he really prefers the tile floor up against the tub.
