Box of Chocolates! What did you get?

We're always asked if Bernie, our Labradoodle, is a Goldendoodle because of his coloring. What's really funny is that he looks nothing like either of his parents!

I know it's usually a mixed bag when you're breeding dogs of different colors, I'm sure especially in hybrids, but I was wondering if anyone else had pics of their pup's parents they could share with us, especially if you got his or her mama's mini-me or a "where did he come from?" like ours!

Wow, Albus' dad has a gorgeous red color! Reminds me of an Irish Setter. I agree, he does look similar to his sister.

These pictures are great! I wish I had a picture of Tori's parents... there were some pictures on the breeder's web-site, but I don't know the name of the dog's in the pictures...think I'm going to go back on her site and see if there are any new pictures on it... loved looking of these! Great post! :o)

I love Bernie's coloring.  Ned does look much like his parents, however in his litter there were cream, apricots and reds.

To the left, with reddish coat is Sedona's doodle father, Dakota.  To the right, with the chalk coat (and the funkily shaved feet) is her doodle mother, Blonde Stella.

Here is Webster's mom and dad, both f1 goldendoodles.

And here is a picture of Webster (the chocolate) with, believe it or not, his brother.

It's amazing how a haircut can change a doodle's look!  I'm always asked if Webster is a labradoodle because of his chocolate coloring.  He was the only chocolate in the litter - good thing I had dibs on a chocolate!

Here are Luna's parents; her mom (gorgeous golden retriever) and dad (apricot mini poodle)

 

And here is Luna at 8 months old.  She's pretty much done growing, but still has her puppy face a bit :)  I think she looks a lot like her mom, a lot of people think she's a miniature golden.

 

 

And to see what her coat looks like (sleeping under my computer desk).  We love her colour pattern, red on top fading to white/cream underneath :)  The base of each of her hairs (even the darkest ones) is cream.  Yes, I am aware she looks kinda pudgy, she's on a diet now ;)
