Finally taking a mental health break from work and treated myself to "A Dog's Purpose".  What a heart warming book. I look at my two very differently now!  Where have they been? What do they know? We both have always said that Murphy is an old soul, this just proves it. Even though it is a fiction, it gives you pause....can this really be their reality?

This sounds like a book I would really enjoy. I used to be an avid reader, but the past few years (between work, grandchildren, writing and painting) I've had very little time for it. I'm putting "reading" back on my priority list for 2011! I've added this title (and a couple of Dean Koontz books that have been mentioned) to my growing list of books to order from Amazon. Thanks for the recommendation! :)

I just finished "A Dog's Purpose" and loved it.  It made me feel better about loosing my last dog.  She just may be somewhere else as someone else's soul mate!  What a great thought.
I just saw this book on Amazon. I think I'll purchase it. Is it really a three tissue box book?
I have this one on my books-to-buy list, also.
MERLE'S DOOR!  It is a great book.  About a dog found in the desert by Navajo land and taken on a raft trip down the Colorado, then adopted by a member of the trip.  It is so great and a very enjoyable read.
Has anybody read this book yet?  I haven't even passed it on because I keep going back and reading sections over again.  There is a part about a llama that was being tried out as a pack animal.  So funny.
I just finished "The Forgotton Garden" by Kate Morton. I really enjoyed it and had a hard time putting it down. I didn't want it to end.  I'm currently reading "The Wet Nurse". My favorite genre is historical fiction.
I read the Wet Nurse - it was really good!

Just finished One Good Dog by Susan Wagner. Really enjoyed it!

The book is really two stories. Half of the book details our hero Adam March's rise and fall within corporate America. Without giving anything anyway, Adam suffers a nervous breakdown at work which results in him losing his job. This starts a cascade of events that eventually results in Adam losing everything. The rest of this story chronicles his comeback from the abyss, as well as offering glimpses into his background that explain the reason why he is who is.

The other half of the story is told from from the perspective of a Pitt bull who started his life out as dog fighter. He is eventually rescued, and adopted by Adam March. The rest of the story chronicles the bonding process between this dog and Adam in beautiful detail. As a dog owner and animal lover, I found everything that the author described as far as the dog's thinking to be extremely believable, and not unreasonable.

I just read "Room" and it was great!!!!!!!
Has anyone read "Whispers" by Dean Koontz? (I apologize if this has already been discussed.)
