Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
Hi everyone. My husband and I are relocating to Northern Virginia. Next weekend (Feb 12), we will be in the Vienna/Reston area trying to find a place. We are having a hard time figuring out what to do with our doods for the weekend as they have never been boarded. We are encountering issues with official doggy daycare due to interview requirements. Is anyone in the area interested in having a very extended play-date? We'd probably need someone to watch them from about 9AM-6 PM on Saturday. If any of our NJ friends are reading this and you'd like to have playmates for the weekend definitely let me know as well! We will be more than willing to return the favor!
Thanks,
Lindsey, Lee, Whopper and Simba

First of all, Welcome to the DCVAMD area. I know you will love it here!
I'm on your way in Maryland (where I-95 meets the Capitol Beltway 495) - I'd do it but I have appointments all afternoon. However, I have an awesome dog sitter/boarder. We never considered boarding the girls when we traveled before we met our new groomer. We always had someone come in for visits but Lucky is still using a crate and I felt so bad about her penned up most of the time. Our new groomer also boards dogs. It's a small business and sometimes it's only our girls there. It's a small heated/AC barn with personal stalls. Our girls take their big blanket and sleep together in one stall when they stay over night. She leaves the barn door open to the fenced yard in back so the dogs can go in and out as the want during daylight hours. The yard is big, and runs up the side of a rocky hill. It can be divided in half if personalities clash or to keep tiny dogs from being crushed by large doodles :) They really love it there and sometimes I have her groom them so they're nice when we pick them up. It's 15 minutes up the road from me and I'd be glad to escort you there Saturday morning after a short romp in our back yard. Let me know if this interests you. - Sally
We live in VA. Does your groomer take other dogs? My Ginger is just 3 months, so not readly yet, but it sounds PERFECT!! What is her name, if it's ok to give it out>

Welcome to the area!!! I would love to help, but my puppy is too small and not finished shots..so I can't help right now...but maybe later.
Good luck with your move!
