Does Charlie need a sweater

I have a 15 month old golden-cava-doodle, Charlie. We live in NY and he lovesss playing in the snow. Even with his 4-6 wk spa/grooming visits ;-) his belly and body were becoming matted. We brush/comb him many times a week, but this content snow and him loving to play, roll
, lay in it made me decide on going short. He came home yesterday and I think they went a wee too short. He looks adorable to me but I am wondering if he should now have a jacket/sweater when he goes out?
Do you have your doods in a sweater or coat when they are short in winter?

We keep Buddy at about 1/2 inch in the winter.  I worried that he might be too cold on our walks so I got him this jacket.  He fussed with it the first couple of times that I put it on him.  But now I think he really likes it and I think it helps especially if it is windy.

Thanks!! I actually got Buddy this one from Amazon.  I had gotten a sweater from Petsmart but Buddy really didn't like me putting his legs in the leg holes in the front of it.  I think it was too constricting.  THis one is great because it attaches with some velcro right underneath his chest  and in front so his legs are free!  THis is the one I got off of Amazon.  I did just notice that is said unavailable, but at least it gives you the brand and another seller on Amazon might sell them, if that is the way you want to go.  I am an Amazon junkie!  LOL!

I don't think Buddy needs sweater. It looks to me, he is short but very dense. Butter is natural short hair like labs, I never put on any sweater or such like. It's pretty cold(-20C) sometimes in Toronto. He has been through 3 winters without any issue.

We are in California and I find that during rainy days Rosie wears a yellow rain coat that has fleece underneath for warmth. I find that especially her belly stays cleaner. Rosie got really funny shaving spots after her hospital stay so we have leg warmers on the way and I am debating on getting her a sweater especially since she is just recovering from her Addison's crisis.
