So I am not sure if I should be concerned or not. Sonny used to have a black nose. However, it seems to be turning more pink/brown. It almost looks like the color has just worn off . It is still black around his nostrils and under that but the tip and top half is pinkish. I have noticed this happening the past few months now.He is almost 2 (where did my puppy go??)  and is acting normal. He doesn't seem sick or unhealthy at all. Is it normal for a dogs nose to change color after time? (haha, my 5 year old just came in to announce that she asked Sonny if his nose was turning pink, lol  I don't think she likes it!)

Thanks for any thoughts or information!

Yes, the same thing is happening with Guinness who is almost two.
Both of our Doodles had black noses and both are now pinkish.  If you do a search on "dudley noses in dogs" you will find info on how and why this happens.  We are going to color our Doodles' noses with black magic markers (ha,ha) :)
It is called "SNOW NOSE".  Color should return after the wintertime!  Sophie's does this.  Never gets all the way back to a dark black before it is winter again, but it does get darker in the summer!
Exactly the same thing is happening to Peri. She is approaching 2 also.  So it sounds like it still might go darker after winter ends!
Hunter had a coal black nose until about 6 months ago - then it was a chocolate now its more of a light brown.  I read about it then and from what I read there wasn't anything to worry about.  Its funny to see the change!
Same thing happened to Camus' nose, but the color is beginning to come back.  We live in California so I am thinking the warmer weather that we are now having may mean that his winter nose will once again become a "Summer Nose" soon.  I really liked his big fat balck nose!

The same thing is happening with Tara's nose. She is just over 2 years old. Her nose has gone from black to brown to lighter brown. Her mom had a rose nose so I don't know if we are heading toward that or not!!  Apparently it is normal though.

Stella's nose has gone from black like a little piece of licorice to brown like a tootsie roll. All edible nonetheless!
Im not sure since Huff is not that old so maybe she has sunburn. But I doubt it in this weather. :)
Darwin's nose gets lighter (more brown) in the winter and blacker in the summer. Right now he's got a brown nose. :-)
So funny, I was just getting ready to post this very discussion.  Gracie Doodle will be 4 years in May and her nose started changing color about 4 months ago.  I don't know if I buy the cold weather idea since we also live in Southern California like Camus does!!!  Her's has turned brown!!  I have always loved her big black nose and want it back!!!!  Years ago I remember my mother's Labs noses turning color and my mother called them "Liver Noses"...don't know if that is her word or if that is what she was told.  Hummm...I guess based on all the Doodles here who have these changing noses, there is nothing to worry about.

I have a doodle named Sunny! They should be friends.

Her nose used to be jet black, but it gradually changed to a lighter, not as solid black with some brown or rust colors. I'm hoping that it's just the winter months, and in the spring and summer it will turn back to black!!

It's totally normal.
