Well, Charlotte lost her id tag for the 2nd time in 6 months.  She is microchipped but I want her to have a visible tag as well.  I did a web search and found America's National Lost & Found Pet Database offers these slide on tags. http://www.lostfoundpets.us/tags.php?sid=22163920 There are various companies which provide these tags but I prefer supporting a cause instead of just a business :-)  Anyway, I've ordered new tags and hopefully the problem will be solved.  Until I get my shipment, I will put one of Webster's old tags on Charlotte's collar.  It will have the wrong doggy name, but it is a name she is familiar with and has the correct contact information just in case something happens in the next week.

I've purchased my dogs' tags from Boomerang Pet Tags. The company's website is www.boomerangtags.com. The turnaround time is quick, and the tags are of great quality. I've lost the other kind of identification tags, too, happening from mistakenly hooking Wally's leash into the loop that holds the traditional tag. The Boomerang tag has never become disconnected from his collar; it's really a terrific product.

Try Boomerang Dog tags.  Adrianne recommended them to me and they are awesome.  They are a good price and they guarantee the tag will last as long as your dog lives!  I got a couple of collars from them too, which were not the best but I would definitely recommend the tags.

I thought DRC was selling something like this as a fundraiser?  Adrianne had sent me a couple but we don't have the right collars.

I use Boomerang too!!!  The turn around was so quick and the product is fabulous!!!!

I am so paranoid, I have three ID tags on Jack's collar and he is microchipped. I am going to look into this tags, Thanks
I have these tags on all three of my collars.  I went ahead and purchased for his big boy collar too for when he's full grown, it's in the drawer.  Since I ordered when he was a puppy he had not had his rabies vac yet but I believe you can even put the rabies vac number on the back of the Boomerang ID.  Good luck!!
Yep, I'm paranoid!!  Both of mine are microchipped, they have their Boomerang slide on tags, as well as the Rabies Get me Home tag, and the town dog licence tag.  If one of them gets lost, I want everyone to know who they belong to!  I also have spare collars with regular id tags on, also from Boomerang because they will engrave both sides of the tag.  On the back of those tags we added the phrase "if I am alone, I am lost" because we live in a rural area where it is not uncommon for people to allow their dogs to roam unaccompanied.  Ours never go out off leash without one of us!

I like those slide on tags. Years ago..(maybe 8-10) I had a great collar for my Golden. The letters and numbers were square pieces of metal that got riveted onto the collar individually. The nylon collar had the metal hole then they put the name and phone # on with some kind of tool. They lasted forever and never fell off. I searched for them 2 years ago when I got Lucca but can't find them anywhere.

BTW...we just ordered really cool tags from www.Etsy.com that are brass, copper and metal. The gal stamps the phone # on the back. I asked her if she could put the address on it but she said it's not recommended because then people will know where you live. It kind of makes sense.

I saw in my doggie magazine recently some collars that were embroidered with the pet's name and a phone number. I think that would solve the problem even though it might not be as fashion forward.

I almost used Boomerang but I liked the idea of the Lost & Found Pet Database.  I've always tried to buy tags from our local animal shelters or other groups - of course, if I need them asap, I just go to the nearest pet tag machine :-)

I like dangling tags because I like to hear the noise of the tags.  Our yard has lots of areas for dogs to hide in so I like hearing that jingling when I go out and call the dogs.  It was tempting to get some pretty new dangling tags but I'll do one tag at a time :-)

For those who have dangling tags and don't like the jingling they make....do you know there are tag silencers. They work great. I for one don't like the jingling:)
Just an update on these dog tags.  I ordered them from America's National Lost & Found Pet Database but they were shipped from Boomerang Pet ID's.  I ordered them on Feb 16 and received them today, Feb 19.  I'm impressed!
