Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

I've adopted a second doodle from a local rescue group.  Unfortunately, they couldn't tell me specifically what type of doodle he is.  I know he is coming from TN, so I understand all the issues a pup/dog may potentially have from coming from what mostly was a back yard breeder.  I'm okay with all the expenses, etc and am willing to provide a loving, nurturing home for the little fella.  Any ideas as to what type of doodle this may be??

The name Ben suits his sweet little face. His ears are back in the picture so you can't really tell how big they are but whatever mix in his his blood he sure is cute.

Thanks everyone!!  This pup is going to be lucky to have me :)  My ALD is spoiled beyond belief.  I am a little nervous after reading the posts though.  I hope this is indeed a doodle since the pup isn't coming with any papers.  As I would love to adopt every cute pet in need of a good home, I specifically just wanted another doodle and a rescue this time (not for financial reasons but b/c I want to do a good deed).  I tried searching different breeders pages and it's so difficult to compare puppy pics.  I tried asking the rescue folks and they unfortunatley didn't have much info on the pup other than it's a labradoodle rescue from TN and it's not thru DRC.  Fingers crossed!

Eva, I have Clancy, my rescue. I got him as an adult and he was listed as a doodle, but we really do not know. He looks doodlish but his build is short and stocky.  I probably would have resisted getting him if I thought he wasn't a doodle (I already had three dogs) and it would have been MY loss.  He is a wonderful dog and a great addition to our family as I am sure Ben will be. Good luck to you. We will enjoy watching him grow up.
He is a Cute-A-doodle for sure.. He is lucky to have you and you to have him....
He is absolutely adoodable, congratulations on your new baby.
Here is Daisy 1st day home, she certainly didn't look much like a doodle that day but she sure does now. I think they have similar looks.
OMG!!! Little tiny Daisy!! She is sooooo cute!!

We got our third doodle from a golden retriever rescue in St. Louis and while they said she was a goldendoodle, we weren't sure, so we decided to have a DNA test run on her. We sent for a kit and it was just a matter of gently swabbing the inside of her "cheek" with a small brush and then sending it to the lab. They said we could send a picture but it wasn't manditory. We opted not to because we didn't want them to be swayed one way or another by her looks. Several weeks later, we got the results back. The test explained that with most mixed breeds, it's rare to have 50% of even one breed, much less two, so we were thrilled to find out that she is indeed 50% golden retriever and 50% poodle!

First is a picture of the first time we saw her at 4 months, then a recent picture of her at a year old. What a beauty she has turned into!

Maybe a aussiedoodle or a portugese water dog/poodle.

Congratulations!!

What a precious baby...

Can't wait to see the pics as he is growing up!
