Lizzy has begun to take her chew things and hide them, saving them for later I presume.  She will find a crease in the couch and shove her chew toy into the crease then try to cover it with a blanket.  The other day on hour hike she picked up my gloves and walked away to a place where she dug a hole, dropped in the gloves, and then covered them with leaves.  I've never had a dog do this before.  Is this a doodle thing?

That's very cute. It sounds like Lizzy is saving for the future.  Very smart doodle girl!   I've only seen Banjo do this outside when he's had a bone.  He'll bury it...then retrieve it to bury it again somewhere else...and on and on...always looking for a better (safer?) place to hide his bone.

Porter doesn't do it, but my neighbor's goldendoodle will bury stuff in the couch and he also "organizes" his toy basket, putting the things he's stolen from my house/Porter at the bottom.

He also brings chew bones to my backdoor and leaves them there for Porter at least a couple times a week, so he's quite generous too.  (Yes, they have a very cute relationship.)

I don't think it's just a doodle thing.  Our shepherd mix, Dixie, would hide things from our golden mix, Cody, or from Webster.  Dixie wasn't a big chewer but she would hide things so that the other dog wouldn't find it.  I would find bones and rawhides in couch cushions, under chairs/couches, and even under our bed pillows (and the dogs aren't allowed on the bed!).  I haven't really noticed my two doodles hiding anything - yet :-)
Duncan tries to hide his bone but never does a good job. He will use his nose to push the imaginary cover over it. I always laugh.
Eventually he moves it to another "secure" location or just chews it. This started after we had a friends dog stay with us for a few days.
Charlie does this with any treat that is bigger than "bite size".  He will hide it in various places around the house.  If he notices you looking at it, then he gets it and re-hides it.  Sometimes he will even cry as he wanders around the house trying to decide where to hide it.  And then there are times, mostly with bones, that he wants to play hide and seek.  He will hide his bone, then bark until I come and find it, then he takes it and hides it again.  It is rather funny, except when he decides he wants to play in the middle of the night!  But he only seems to do this with food items so far.
Tara has a circular bed with a crevass all the way around it on the inside. She likes to hide toys and treats in the crevass and then shortly afterward she "finds" them and throws a them up in the air and acts like she has just found buried treasure!!  She is my first dog to do this. Past dogs mostly buried bones outside and that sort of thing.
That's adorable.  Tara always has a surprise in store for herself!
It is really cute and it keeps her entertained on rainy days!!
Oliver doesn't do it, but I just saw a tv commrcial where the dog, a little westie I believe orries about burying his bone, so he puts it in a vault in a bank, buries it outside, etc.  I believe it is an insurance commercial not sure, but your posting brought it to mind....Oliver just leaves a trail of toys, etc wherever he goes.  He takes his toys out of the toy basket and then proceeds to play and leave them all over the house...
Yes, I love that commercial.   That little dog is so cute...and a good actor!!!   : )
Oh, I saw that one too! It's adorable!!
Clancy just uses the old body block.  He lays on things he doesn't want to share.  When he gets up we find several toys that he accumulated, or should I say hoarded!
