Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

Between getting to know everyone with Yappy Hour and the game of 3 truths and one lie, there is so much to learn about everyone and there are some really interesting and talented people on DK. I would love to know some of the vital statistics like: Age, Married, Children, their ages, professions, hobbies, a dream or goal you have before you get too old to do it. Things that aren't on our profile page already. With all the photos of ourselves we can now put the whole picture of the DK member together.

I'll start:

I am 57 and have been married to my highschool sweetheart for 39 years this May. We have two grown children, Michele 36 and Erik 30 who are both married and live nearby in Az. We have one grandson, Ethan,20 months old, who is my sunshine. I am a Labor and Delivery Nurse, somewhat semi retired and DH is a retired Fire Fighter. I love to make quilts and give one to every family member and so far have about 16 done and about 23 to go. I love to run, work out, be outdoors, garden, read, and spend time with family and doodles. One of my biggest goals is to hike the Grand Canyon rim to rim and also to see Europe someday. Other than that, my dream of being a mom and grandmother is being realized every day.

How about you?

My brother was named after my Dad...and they both have a middle name...Hmmmmm...how fair is that??  Lol...

Thank you for your kind words about my family Allyson.

I love them to pieces!!

Hello again...I wasn't able to add this photo of the view from our backyard when I just posted.

I wanted you to be able to see how peaceful and beautiful it is in South Carolina on the lake...and what a fun playground Sasha has to swim and play in!  She just Loves the water!  (smile)

Susan, This reminds me of our house that we raised our children in on Lake Osborne in Lake Worth Florida. We had such great times on the lake and there's just nothing like it. I now regret that we didnt' have a dog back then as he would've just loved jumping off the dock with the kids and their friends. Knowing my DH, he probably would've tried to teach him to waterski.!

Yes Sue...it's great fun on a lake isn't it?!

Your children must have loved it!!

You're right about having a dog on a lake...

Like I told Laurie...

I litterally can't keep Sasha out of the water!!

She loves to go in the lake and pull out sticks that get soft and Very fun to munch on!!  Lol...

She also roams the shore...we have two acres...and she  thinks that she is quite the explorer!!

Of course...I am watching her like a Momma hen the whole time...(smile)

Waterskiing!!  Hmmmmmm...  Sasha will have to try that this summer!!  Lol...

How does she do with ear infections? Murphy had chronic infections from swimming in the ocean and pool 2 summers ago. You are very lucky if Sasha is ear infection free. It really puts a damper on them enjoying the water when you have to be so darn careful with his ears. My children say they had the best childhood they can imagine having grown up on a lake. We sold that house after 21 years and our daughter's wedding. She wanted to have all the festivities and parties at that house and leave in the limo with her daddy from that house, So we waited till she wed and then sold.

There is nothing like living on water though.

So far Sasha hasn't had any ear infections!!  Keeping paws crossed...Lol...

We've been very fortunate so far...as she has never been sick...and she will be two in April 4th!

We'll have to see what this summer is like.

I have the feeling that Sasha will be venturing into deeper water...since she is a "big girl" now!!  Lol...

I'll have to watch for ear infections...especially if she has her head under the water a lot.

How wonderful for your daughter to have her wedding at the lake house Sue!

My daughter talks about doing the same thing...so...I totally understand how meaningful and beautiful this can be.

When the time comes...I just might ask you for some advice...(smile)

As far as living on the water...

My favoriter time is at sunset...sitting with my DH...and Sasha of course...and just chatting about our day!

Pure Bliss!

When our children are there with us...well...it just doesn't get any better than that!!

I am very new to Doodle Kisses! I could spend hours here, as I already am doing... quite addictive as you all know! We all know we have doodles in common, but many of our personal lives are similar also!

I am 52 years old and also married my high school sweetheart! We've been married for almost 31 years (April will be 31) We have three children, Erin 29, Lauren 27 and David 26. All of my children were born with a rare genetic disorder "alpha-mannosidosis" causing them to be disabled. All work in a "supported" work setting, the girls work in a "candy kitchen" making hand made candies, jellies and jams, and my son makes home made dog biscuits! All are sold locally at various stores , restaurants and vets.  Ironically, I am a NICU nurse for over 30 year,s and my husband has sold wheelchairs for over 30 years, I think our work experience has made us appreciate everything our children can do vs dwelling on things they can not. Two years ago we built a completely wheelchair accessable home complete with an elevator so our children can continue to live with us. Our doodles are the grandchildren we will never have and our kids adore them! In my "free" time I love reading, walking, gardening and decorating our new home!
