Is there any reason for my 10 mo. old Labradoodle, Glory not to be able to pee and poop in the same outing?I allow enough time, but he runs toward the house afterwords. It is still cold up here in Pa. and going out 2 or 3 times in a short time span ( 1 hour ) is a pain. He is still on a leash until I get some electric fencing. I think he's got my number. We all know they are smarter than we are!

My dogs have certain areas where they pee or poo. They don't do both in one spot. Maybe you could establish one area for pee and one for poo. Haha...he probably does have your number too:)
Do you try to walk him around longer?  Sometimes Buddy will pee and then want to run back inside and I just tell him to get out there and poop.  Sometimes I have to walk him around the yard when I know he should have to poop it could take 5 minutes but he finally does it.  Oh and Buddy HATES the rain.  So even though I usually don't take him on the leash, when it is raining or the ground is a little soggy I have to otherwise Mister Prissy won't get on the wet grass. LOL!  He LOVES the snow though...he is strange. :)
Hhmm, this sounds very familiar! Barley has to take two outings each morning. Outing 1 is a quick pee; that is then followed 20 minutes later by Outing 2 for poo. My other doodle Daisy does everything at once. I think dogs are individuals and each one has his or her own "schedule". I have a theory though that part of the reason Barley goes out more often is because going out equals getting more treats for returning when called. I think he has my number, too! =)
"Number too" was not meant to be a nerdy pun for "number two" !Ah, well.
Haha!

Rosco and Boca pee several times a day, but only poop 2-3 times a day.  So for them to poo every time they pee would mean an inordinate amount of poo!  I certainly don't poo every time I pee.

If you know when Glory tends to go poo (the general time) then you can bundle up and walk him around the yard for a bit longer until he wiggles the poo out.  Also you might want to teach him to poo on command.  Then if you KNOW it's his poo time you can give him the command to go within about 5 min of being out with him.

Great comparison Adina!!!  Yes, we pee far more than poo!!  I know that Gracie pees and drinks a lot.  But only 2-3 poos a day.  Always one in the morning but about 10 minutes into her walk and sometimes a second one.  Then in the afternoon when we are throwing the ball she will do another one.  Rarely will there be one late at night after dinner.  But...she pees all the time though can hold like a Camel during the night!
Tori does that a LOT... don't know why....almost every morning she does this... maybe the poop needs to work itself out more for her - LOL  - glad to hear we're not alone!
