I found out from my breeder that my puppy was welcomed into this world yesterday afternoon!!  Mom and her 6 babies are all doing fine.

There were 3 boys and 3 girls in this litter.  2 chocolates, 2 cream and 2 black.  I don't know at this point which baby I will be getting as the breeder will match one of the pups to the things I thought were the most important in my dog.  I don't care what sex the puppy is but want one that is medium in size, has more of a laid back, calm personality as I live in a townhouse with no back yard, and preferably a chocolate.  If the chocolate doesn't match up then my second choice is a cream.

I will find out in 5 weeks which puppy will be mine and I don't know how I will stand waiting that long!!

I'll keep you all posted.

My inlaws have a "small standard" at 50 pounds and I think she is such a wonderful size.  I am sure however your pup ends up, you will love, love, love him/her!
I'm hoping for a a Dood that will be around 30-35 pounds full-grown but who knows??  I'm gonna fall in love with it no matter what size it is 'cause they're so stinkin cute!!
My Peri is 25 pounds.  Her siblings were mostly larger 30-40 pounds.  All are wonderful sizes!  Like you say you will love the puppy no matter what!
Too funny!! I've already been doing that but I've really only gotten a lot of essentials plus lots of toys (they're essential right???).  I know there are things that I won't be able to get until I know how big he/she will be but that doesn't keep me out of the pet stores :))
It gets to be like an obsession preparing for your new pup.  (a fun obsession) Have fun! Get puppy books and training books too!

Yes, it is an obsession.  Seems it's all I think about.

I have already read Cesar Millian's 'How to Raise a Perfect Puppy' and am now reading Patricia McConnell's 'The Other End of the Leash'.  I've also been download lots and lots of great articles and of course spend a good amount of time on this site learning from all of you!!

Some other good ones are "The Art of Raising a Puppy" by Monks of New Skete and "How to Behave So Your Dog Behaves" by Sophia Yin.
Thanks Jodi.  I have heard about "The Art of Raising a Puppy" and I think I'll add that one to the list too!  So much to read, so little time.....
How exciting!!!!!!!  Keep us posted!!  Can't wait to see photos :-)
Connie - what exciting news!!!!!  The waiting will seem like forever!  But oh how close you are to having your doodle!  Does the breeder post photos?  I'd spend my time just getting prepared and drooling over any pictures.  We can't wait to hear how it all turns out!
The breeder posts photos on Shutterfly so I'm not sure if I can only download them by purchasing them.  I'm going to have to find that out.
I was able to download the picture the breeder sent of all the pups after they were born.  I put it on my profile picture.  One of those little bundles will be mine.  Can't wait to find out which one!!
