Huff's Vet Appointment!

There is some good news and some bad news. Let's start with the bad news....Huff has a yeast ear infection.... apparently in both ears. He cried quite a bit when the vet was trying to check his ears. He doesn't cry for just nothing. He didn't even cry when he broke his nail. Poor baby, it must hurt him a lot!:( We got two kinds of drops for his ears (one for night time and one for the morning. She said it might have been from cleaning his ears too much!? I don't doubt it is true but I only clean his ears once or twice a week...WTD? Speaking of his nail, that is the good news.... She thinks he is not going to lose it!:) It still hurts him though, he didn't want her to touch it very much.... Thanks everyone for caring.:)

I'm happy you took Huff to the vet.  Lots of doodles have problems with their ears.  You are a good owner to get it taken care of.  And good news about his nail!

Thanks Gavin-skinny-butt:) It is and my mommy keeps putting this gooey stuff in my ears and she says "Oh poor Huff!" I am kind of confused myself....

It's sad, when our Doodles are in pain, they can't tell us!  And yet, they seem to know when we don't feel well.  Interesting, hugh?

From what I have been told a "yeast infection" in our dogs ears is different than an actual "ear infection" which is treated with antibiotics.  Taylor...you are such a good girl/person for taking Huff to the vet...you must love him a lot!  I am soo happy that his nail is OK and that the vet checked him out.  BTW...I also know that "home schooled"  kids are exceptional as you must be to care so much about your doggie.  Keep up with those drops for Huff's ears and he will be good as new.

There are yeast infections and there are bacterial infections. They are both infections but they are treated differently.

Ya, it must be different because she gave us drops not antibiotics. They make his ears all greasy.:( He has to have them twice a day for 10 days. That seems like a lot. Thanks:) I bet anybody on DK would take their doodle to the vet if they suspected an ear infection but besides that I do love him a lot:)
