I was petting Lincoln today, and I I felt a lump under his skin :(  He is only two so I thought it was early for a bump under the skin.  My dog Scott had one in his cheek for his whole life that never develped into anything more.  It is not attached to anything underneath so I think that is at least a good thing.  Anyone else have a Doodle that had a bump or lump?  I will be bringing him to the vet soon for his shots and annual exam so I'll ask her then.

My Springer has some.  Some have been fatty tumors and some seem to be lumps of nothing.
Jack has a fatty tumor, and he also had an odd mole removed a year or so ago. I've had dogs in the past who had various kinds of harmless cysts, too. I don't think age has much to do with it.
Kona has a lump on his back that is the size of a pea. The vet aspirated it and said it was a fatty tumor. He was only 3 when he got it. It hasn't changed. Our 13 year old Golden was covered with lumps in her old age.
one of my dogs has several cysts and fatty tumors. Vet says some dogs are prone to getting them. I have had some of them biopsied just as a precaution. None have been cancerous, thank goodness.
Tara developed a little lump on her neck around the age of 2 years also. I also thought she was too young to have lump!! The vet said it is a cyst. It is too small to aspirate right now so we are watching it for any changes. Unfortunately, the vet also said there is a likelihood that she will develop more of them. :(
Lincoln's is about 3 inches down from his neck near his back, and two inches up from his left shoulder blade.  It is about the size of a quarter.  Thanks everyone for sharing.  I feel a bit better now, but of course I worry as I just lost my dog Scottie to cancer last December.
We also had a dog die from cancer (fibrosarcoma).  We give all of our dogs Beta Glucan as a precaution.  It is an immunity booster used in China.
Izzy  (6 months) has "lumps" on her elbows. 1 is about the size of a large pearl, the other elbow has a teeny one. They aren't fatty tissue. They are harder. The vet biopsied them when she was under for her spaying. They were diagnosed as mineral deposits. Per the surgeon..some animals get them and no one knows why. They are not firmly attached at this point so we are getting them removed in a couple weeks. Supposedly I don't need to worry but...we all know how that goes.......
I hope all goes well Carla.  I'm sure if the vet thought it was something more serious they tell you :D  I know what you mean...:(
Could be the microchip if he's got one.  Porter's got a nickle size lump of tissue around his "grain of rice" sized chip.
You know I thought of that!!!  That's probably what it is. Although I never felt it before.  It's exactly where a microchip would be too!!!  Thanks for mentioning it :D

I just found this article on microchips, and lumps, and this is a reputable site.  I'm taking him in to be looked at:
