So last night was the 2nd week of my daughter's 4H dog obedience class.  It is a HUGE class of 30 kids and dogs but at least they marked out 2 "rings" so there are "only" 14-17 kids/dogs in each group.

Charlotte is 8 months old and she is loving this class! She is wearing the dreaded pinch collar and gets excited when she sees it - hopping around begging for it to be put on! As a second dog, Charlotte is very confident when out with Webster.  When she is out on her own, she is much more reserved, slightly skittish, and she barks at people or dogs.  Her first training class started with 15 minutes of barking, jumping, and tail tucking before she relaxed and slowly started enjoying herself.  The second class she pranced into that arena and never looked back.

Charlotte stayed at Julianna's (my 11 yr old daughter) side, tail up, prancing and SMILING as they walked, sat, lay down, etc.  I was so proud of both girls and thrilled that they not only worked well as a team but really enjoyed the class.

This is the first obedience class that any of my dogs have attended.  Is this common for dogs/doodles to enjoy obedience class?  This class is packed and yet Charlotte kept close watch on Julianna, as though she couldn't wait for the next instruction.  There is no interaction with other dogs so it's not 'play time', it's 'work time'.  Does your dog love to learn?  Do tell......

I've never been in a real obedience class.  But my dogs DO really enjoy training/working.  Their training collar always gets them excited because it means they get to go DO something and do it in the real world =)
I'm not sure if this is a "real" obedience class - lol! It's a bit more chaotic then what I'd imagine a "real" class would be :-)
Absolutely....both of my Doodles seem to really enjoy the classes and even the day to day training "work" that we do.
Both my doodles really enjoy the classes.  They get so excited when we pull into the parking lot.  They usually walk well on a leash but we are dragged into the training class.
Darwin loved his puppy kindergarten class. He really just wanted to play with the other dogs though. :-)
Monty loved going to CGC classes so much, I went ahead and signed him up for another after that.
Callie LOVED her rally obedience class and was thrilled and ready to work every minute we were there. She would get SO tuckered out!!

Butters loves obedience class.  We do ours at the local Petsmart... which I was a little hesistant about, but our trainer is amazing.  We started out with a lot of dogs in the class and Butters had a hard time not going and playing with everyone else.  But now he knows when we get out of the car where he is suppose to go and how he is suppose to behave.  Sometimes I think he puts on an act to show the other dogs up because he is not as obedient at home as he is at class. We have completed the puppy training and the intermediate class and in a week we will start the advanced class and we are very excited to get to some of the really hard stuff because Butters has really excelled so far.

Chloe pretended to listen in her 3 Beginners classes. Yes 3

Myla went at 10 weeks and she was so intent and listened to everything I said while staring up at me. She won the sit/down contest 5 times in a row. She liked to watch the other puppies but didn't want them to come over by us but she could go to them. Boy do I miss that sweet obedient puppy!

Ned and Clancy get so exited when ever their leashes come out, because it means they are going somewhere and doing something.  But they do seem to enjoy the classes, although sometimes they show the worst of their training skills.

All 3 of my doodles loved their classes.  They really loved the 1 on 1 attention from me as well as the socialization with other people and other dogs.  Zeke was a real show off.  He excelled at everything.  Lily just wanted to play but figured out pretty quickly to get to play she needed to get down to business.  Jasper was an overall good student who learned quickly and enjoyed strutting his stuff.

We were in classes with other doodles who did equally well and seemed to be the stars of the class.  Really these dogs love to learn, love to please and are so social.  They are a trainer's dream student!

This is a wonderful update to your earlier concerns about the class! I am so happy for Charlotte and Julianna! Thanks for posting.
