I'm looking for some advice - is there a such thing like people where dogs can just get a belly ache?  I don't want to freak out right away, but I haven't had to deal with digestive issues in a long time, it used to be diarrhea or constipation.  Last night after we got home from a walk, Allie vomited.  I thought because she drank her water too fast, and then got a treat immediately after.   I know she didn't get into anything on our walk.  This morning, the same thing happened.  DH took Allie for their morning walk.  I left for work, then DH called me and said she vomited again. He fed her, she ate a little and then vomited again!  He had just gotten home from the midnight shift, so is now in bed.  I had him gate her in so that she has access to our bedroom and the hallway so that he can hear if she gets sick again.  She did drink water, and kept that down before he went to bed.  Nothing has changed with her food, and she seems normal, other than vomiting.  She did just come off from 3 weeks of antibiotics for an ear infection that FINALLY went away.  We always give her some plain FF yogurt with her food, but did not this morning as DH thought that it might upset her belly more (dairy) so he put some pumpkin in her food, not that she kept anything down anyway.  Any suggestions?  Should I make ANOTHER vet appointment?  Her Vet file makes me want to be sick right along with her...

Is your Vet okay with just calling for advice?  If I just have a question I can call and talk to the Vet Tech.  If they can't answer they go ask the Vet and call be back.  I've avoided lots of office visits this way.
I'm sure I could call and ask them, but I am going to see how she is doing first when DH wakes up.  They are quick to suggest RX food, or boiled chicken and rice... for digestive issues.  I also value the opinion of the Food Group more than the Vet for these issues.
Stay away from the RX food, and Florti-flora. poor Aliie, hope she gets better soon
I know, I've already made the RX mistake once (before a loyal Food Groupie) while feeding Science Diet kibble as well...

Pumpkin is really only helpful for its fiber content...for loose stools and even constipation. It won't do a thing for nausea or vomiting.

The chicken & rice diet is not a bad idea, but I would want to try to find out what's causing this. Is it possible she got into anything earlier in the day yesterday?

I think I would go to the vet if this continues; my biggest concern would be dehydration from all the vomiting and not being able to keep anything down. Maybe they could give  her something for the nausea.

You might try giving her Pepcid, that's helped Jack and a few other dogs here. But I'd still want to know what's causing it. Vomiting once in a while for no apparent reason is normal, but this sounds like there's definitely something going on with her stomach. If it had been happening while she was on the antibiotics, it would be understandable, but for it to be happening now that she's off them is puzzling.

Thank you Karen.  No, she didn't get into anything.  The only time she has been off leash in the past few days was this morning, as her and DH were walking down the hill and I was getting ready to leave for work DH let her off leash to run down to me.  I am planning on the chicken / rice today.  I guess I will wait and see how she does with that before taking her to the vet.  I will definitely not wait if she keeps vomiting.  She is not lethargic or showing any signs of anything abnormal other than the vomiting.

Oh poor thing!   I'll be watching posts to see if she's doing better.   And i'm curious to see the advice given.
How is Allie feeling today?
