Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

I am keeping a female from my most recent litter and have purchased a soon-to-be born male. This got me thinking about fun doodle names. My favorite is "Mulch." The family chose this name because the puppy's father was "Woody" and his brother was "Twigs." They said they would name a future female puppy "Loam." What interesting names have you run across?

My doodle boy's name is Trinity's Jazz Man Zeke. This was chosen because his mother is Ella Fitzgerald and his dad is James Brown. Also his grandmother's name on his mother's side was Jasmine, his grandfather on his mother's side was Zeke. When these names were decided I did not know of the names in his background. Zeke is just a good old Austrailian name.
Hi I am an Aussie I have an Assie name you may like "Pipi" along the Aussie coast lines we have little molasces called Pipi's, we stand on the edge of the surf twist our feet, this pulls up the Pipi's. As kids we used them as bait, now they are a delicasy.
We had a corgi when I was little and his name was Pipi.Another one, a very old one is Ocker, it means a good bloke. "He is a good old ocker"!
Hi All,
Great topic, great and creative names! Since our pup came from Patty, she knows this story. We agonized over naming this dog, almost (my husband says even more than!) more than naming our daughters. Since the naming involved us, our 2 daughters and their husbands, we had quite a selection of, er, unusual names. Our son-in-law, Dan--knowing that I am a life-long Knicks fan (my dad played for them!)--wanted to name him JORDAN, after Michael Jordan, longtime Knicks slayer! So, not trusting my family, I decided to name him on my own. Since our daughters, Corey and Morgan, have Gaelic names (despite the fact that they are Korean!), I searched Irish names and decided on Tully. It's a variation of Tulloch and means "he comes from the hills." Since he is a Log Cabin Labradoodle, he comes from the hills of northern Maine! We already have lots of other names for him (Tull, Tuller, Tulips, T Dogg) but when he really "energetic," I call him The Tullinator!
Kathy
Hi Kathy,

You know how much I love Tully's name. Love all the derivatives . I have a parti boy coming soon that I'd like to name Tully if you do not mind. It's a grand old Irish name.
Patty,
I'd be honored! So many people have commented on his name; that coupled with his charm and Doodlish good looks, set him apart from the ordinary doggie crowd! Besides, since you midwifed him into the world you're related; it's a family name now!
Hope all is well with you. How is your daughter who had surgery? And how is Mimi adjusting to life in the Rockies?
Take Good Care...
Kathy
Thank you for sharing Tully's name, Kathy. Since my new boy is a chocolate parti, I thought I would call him "Two Tone Tully." Thank you for asking about my daughter Sarah. She is back to work and as delightful as ever. She and my granddaughter visited this past weekend and we had a grand time. Mimi is very happy in Colorado with our daughter Amy. So all is well in the Log Cabin World. Kiss Tully for me please.
This is a bit off topic but... We have a sealpoint Birman cat named Jiminy. Birmans are named by tradition starting with the letter of the alphabet that corresponds to their birth year. Jiminy was born in 1999 which was the W year. His full name is Wish Upon A Star. And called Jiminy because Jiminy Cricket sang that song in Pinocchio.
Our Australian Labradoodle is Noble Vestal's Australian Sage. Sage is our daughter's idea. Sage is used to cleanse buildings and places when it's burned. And a sage is a wise person.

But the very best pet name was our beloved Siamese named Norm. He showed up on our doorstep - a purebred stray. We searched and searched for his owners. One night my husband asked him what his name was. Because we might have an easier time finding his owner. Just then he looked up and said "Noooooorrrrrmmmm" Norm lived to be 21. The best cat ever.

I think I am naming my new baby boy Australian Labradoodle Kalypso. The name is getting rave reviews from the gals at work. Kal will be the short version! I love anything tropical (I live in Florida), my daughter is very musically oriented (Calypso music) and my husband loves Greek mythology. Covers all the bases!!
WE HAD A BUNCH OF NAMES ON OUR LIST,BUT IT CAME DOWN 2 ANNIE. THE BOY NAMES THAT WE LIKED WERE PHELPS,CJ (COOPER JR. THAT IS OUR SOON 2 B DOGS DAD). THATS ALL THE BOY NAMES WE HAD. IF U WOULD LIKE GIRL NAMES WE ALSO HAVE LOTS OF THOSE.
Hi Patty,
We have Leea it means "delicate" in Hebrew. She doesn't quite live up to her name but her curls look extremelt delicate.
We are the guardian home to a gorgeous little red mimi male. The name we chose for him is Jasper (precious red jewel).
He comes from Dianne Carter's Trinity Doodles with his mother's name Gift of Charity and dad Janko. So his registered name is Trinity's Gift of Jasper. He truly is a precious jewel!

I'm thinking of Scout La Rue (from To Kill a Mocking Bird) Bowie (David Bowie fan) Dougal (It's a Scottish name and my puppy is coming from Scotland) I don't know what colour of whether it's a boy or a girl yet so it will probably be something entirely different!  I was also thinking of Piper for a girl.
