New puppy will be coming home in November!

Hi Everyone! This is a great idea for a group since I've been sitting on pins and needles for the past month waiting for our new furry friend! (I can't believe I still have over a month to go!)

My husband and I are adopting an 8 week old goldendoodle from Glen Eden in Berryville, VA. While my husband originally wanted to "surprise" me with a pup, he decided it would be more fun to choose together, so I don't have an exact DAY of when Oliver will be joining us...but my husband does and he's not letting me know until the day of!!! All I know is that we'll be getting him in November, and I'm going to come home one day and get a, "Surprise! We're going to pick up the puppy!" from my husband. Which is pretty exciting! :) (I can't believe he's been able to hold out on me this long, usually we're both SO bad at surprising the other because we can't keep our own excitement in!)

Needless to say, we've been planning like crazy and buying lots of puppy stuff that have been recommended for new puppy owners.

Can't wait to meet new friends on here so we can watch our puppies grow up together on doodlekisses! :)

Hi Meredith. I breed Labradoodles and am keeping two puppies that were born in September. So my girls are probably the same age as your puppy. One of mine's eyes opened last weekend, and the other (one week younger) should open her eyes in a few days. The older puppy can also hear now. This is a fun stage!

I know the feeling, I'm trying to be calm! Our little chocolate labradoodle is expected in mid-November from Log Cabin Labradoodles in Maine (Patty Barnes). We are going to surprise our children, and I can hardly wait to see their faces. We'll have to have the movie camera on!

Meanwhile, I'm trying to keep hold of my wallet and just talk to people, research, and read about what items we really need and how best to arrange our home around this much-anticipated new member of our family. Good luck to you.
