Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

Since getting another doodle, we have discovered that their constant playing ie. slobbering all over each other, whilst playing and jumping around, leaves them both smelling none-to-sweet. My question to other owners of multiple doodles, is does this happen to you and if so, what do you use to "freshen them up". Obviously, I just cannot keep bathing them every week but I would like to know if there is anything I could use daily as my house really is starting to smell ......"doodlish"..??

I really don't have that problem. I give the girls a bath about once a month, unless they roll on something "dead". You could try a "dry bath". Good luck.
I have never had that problem and we have always had two dogs.  My son used to spray Fabreeze on his dog, but I wouldn't recommend that.  There are also deodorants that you can put in your vacume cleaner that seems to be a good house freshener.  We also use plugins to help keep the house smelling fresh.  Weekly baths are too much and I wouldn't recommend that for either you or the dogs.
I don't have this problem too much, but I have been known to use baby talc on dogs, as well as wiping down with a wet cloth or a baby wipe.
I think they smell the most when they are wet, but otherwise, I don't notice much odor. My daughter, who is a cat person, says it smells like "dog" when she comes to visit, though, so maybe I have become immune to it. There is an arm and hammer carpet fresh spray that I use and occasionally I use a scented candle, but it isn't bad to begin with. I know that labs can be pretty stinky, so maybe labradoodles can vary according to their coat type?? I like th idea of using a wipe to freshen them up--or there are freshening sprays for dogs. There is a spray I use on the dogs to repel dirt and loosen mats that has a silicone base. It is called Tough Stuff and it smells very nice. You can spray it on anytime. I got it at my groomers a long time ago (I do my own grooming now) but it must be available online.
I love having two doodles to play together, but mine are also very mouthy. Rosie is constantly pulling Olivers long ears, and Oliver is a "kissing" doodle always washing Rosies face. I'm more sensitive to the dogs saliva, therefore I notice that doggie smell that comes along with it. For some reason I notice it more on Oliver my curley guy. I find that a quick spray with "T*H*E STUFF" a spray on conditioner, detangler and a quick brushing of Olivers ears helps soo much!
I love THE STUFF!  I have also found that if I put a few drops of Skin So Soft bath oil in the bottle, it really helps freshen my dog up.  That STUFF is really awesome.  Highly recommend.  :-)
I use Fresh N Clean spray. You could also brush a little baby powder into light doodles. I have four and it is much different then having a single doodle. There are several sprays on the market Drs. Foster & Smith, R.C.Steel any of the catalogues have them I order on line. Bev & Pack

I also use the STUFF that Ann does. Usually after a bath just before I blow them dry.As it does keep them from getting dirty. It just brushes off! I never thought of for freshing them up. Good idea Ann!

We wipe down Peri with baby wipes (the allergy-friendly kind). It gives her a fresh smell.
