I know many of us are feeding our Doodles Orijen kibble. Lexi and Billy have been fed Orijen for more then a year now with no problem. I was told that Orijen changed both its packaging and it formulation a few months ago. Both Lexi and Billy have had toothpaste consistancy movements lately.Lexi had her stool checked and it came back negative. I was wondering if anyone had experienced the same thing since the change in Orijen.  We are thinking of trying grain free Fromms and seeing if there is a change,

We give the girls Evo. I know that they sold to P&G but I met a woman at the dog park whose husband works for P&G and he told her that they would not be changing the formula. I guess I will wait to see if that happens but we are sticking with it.

Sorry the doods are having this problem!!!!!

I've never tried the orijen (or is it orljen?) But I can say that Fromms is a very good grain free food, sami has been eating fromms since I have had her. They are a smaller company..and I always feel more comfortable buying from a smaller company lol. And its on the cheaper side of the grain free foods, at least in my area.
I feed Bindi Orijen Red meat & Orijen original. Binid has some issues once in awhile but not every day, so I don't believe it is the Orijen.
Are Lexi and Billy getting treats?  Anything different?  Treats are often the culprit.

thats possible,  they love chicken and ham strip treats

I have never used Orijen for Phoebe but we did have a lot of issues--stomach upset, not wanting to eat--when I tried chicken strips with her.  I stopped those treats and the issues went away!

Orijen has barely changed formula. They have added in a little more fresh meat and decreased the amount of meat meal (meal with the water removed) which has slightly decreased the protein amounts. I cant see that this would cause issues. Unless you fed the red meat and your dogs have a beef allergy (which is highly unlikely) as the added beef to that formula. Its more likely a treat (alot of chicken strips are from China and are irradiated - check the packaging) or maybe they got into the garbage or ate something on a walk/at the park. Or maybe they drank some dirty water outside - If Cooper drinks from a puddle she often gets a poorly tummy.

Personally I think the Orijen is a much superior food to Fromm, which isnt bad, but costs more than it is worth. As for EVO - they say they wont change the formula or their suppliers but Proctor and Gamble have said that before and did change formulas....... I personally dont like P and G and wont buy any of their products (which is alot! They seem to own most popular brands of everything!). Currently though, EVO is a good food - the US equivalent of Orijen (a Canadian company) though legally they can change the formula and not say anything, and dont have to change the packaging for up to 6 months.

I will tryto stop the treats................Ithink it might be the chicken strips

It's probably not the food but the treats-whenever DH is gone I tend to spoik them with "YUMMY" treats, anything different and he comes in and asks what did they eat today? It's so gross...I reply Nothing that I know of (HE HE HE HA HA) I can't help it, charlie bears get boring and they have all these cool treats from their birthdays and the holidays!

Hope they feel better soon!!!
