No big discussion, I just wanted to brag :-)
Went to Lowe's today with both dogs. My DH was shopping so I took both dogs and they behaved beautifully. Charlotte is 9 months old and Webster is 2 years old. They walked nicely, sat to greet their fans, and even shook hands. They stretched their noses so the toddlers in the carts could pet them and they even spent a bit of time with a lady in a wheelchair. The butt wagging was controlled, no jumping, and only a little back talking when Charlotte didn't want to sit :-) They were a huge hit in the store and everyone was shocked that "such big dogs" and "so young" were so well behaved. There was one woman who was so enthralled with them (in a very positive, responsible way) that she is going home to check petfinder for doodles in shelters or rescue groups.
Apparently it was an exhausting trip for the doodles as they are currently passed out on the dining room floor. It wasn't long ago that a walk with both dogs resulted in my arm, shoulder, and back aching. It appears that those days are over!
We have a local radio station that has "Love On Your Kids Friday". How about today be "Brag on your Doodle Saturday". Join in with any "brag" you want to share!

We are in Canada were it seems that everywhere is anti-dog!! Luckily, we are in a small town where the Home Depot still allows dogs. It is such a great opportunity for people socialisation. Our older LD loves to meet people so it is a real treat for him to go in there. Our younger LD is very timid, so we make sure to take him in regularly to practice meeting new people. The regular staff know them both by name and really enjoy greeting them. We make sure that they are both on their best behaviour, it is a privilage to still be allowed to take dogs in there and we hope that no-one (or thir dog!!) does anything stupid that could change this.
I grew up in England where you can still take your dog into a country pub after a hike while you eat dinner!
Yup - proud pooch parents :-) Bragging on my kids can make them too cocky, I don't worry about that with bragging on my doodles. They can't type well enough to use the internet and, even if they could get on to DK, they can't read.
We venture to Inner Harbor Baltimore for weekends a few times per year. We love to take Monty with us. It's a mix of tourists, locals and more homeless folks than I would like to admit. Monty's presence draws a lot of people! I allow everyone to talk to us, pet Monty, some have even asked to take pictures of themselves with Monty. I stand to the side holding his leash and allow the photo to be of them! I know that if I stop for a moment I'm doomed to more minutes of time going by, folks never seem to tire nor want us to move on. Prob the most fun we had was the fountains that shoot up from the concrete at various times. The children love to play in them, and when I took Monty there last summer during a hot day, it was crazy. He loved it, the children loved it more. The homeless people seem to really get a kick out of us hanging around. It's a thrill and tiresome at the same time. :)
Way to promote our DOODLES!! Sounds like they did great, love that she's checking the rescue first!!
