Rhubarb
I've been growing rhubarb for years but who knew it had big flowers? I've never seen these before. Rhubarb is delicious, just be sure to throw away the leaves. They contain oxalic acid which is harmful. I just cut the stems in 1-2" pieces and microwave it around 8-10 minutes in a large container with barely any water. It will boil over if the container is not large enough. Then sweeten it and use it plain or however you like it.

Jane - you make homemade strawberry rhubarb pie???? YUMMMM!!!! I don't think I even know what fresh rhubarb looks like... (my bad)....
F - for some reason I can't see the image you posted. Is it showing on your monitor?

I do....and it's really not hard. I only make it when I can get fresh strawberries and fresh rhubarb. I could make a meal out of one of these pies.....actually, I have.

I can't see the photo. :( But I love strawberry-rhubarb pie. Actually, I love any kind of fruit pie! And homemade pie crust? To die for! Jane, I've got to figure out a way to get myself and the doodle to CT!

Now there are two images. The second one, which was first posted, came from a url, since I had to email it to myself to post. Now I managed to post directly. Let me know and maybe a comuter guru can explain all this. Meanwhile what date and time are we meeting at Jane's for pie. She'd better watch out, some of us could actually get there.
