Well, I had hoped to get up at 4 am to start watching the Royal Wedding, but even for royalty, I could not get up that early. Around 6 am I turned on the TV and was just in time to see the Queen making her way to the church. What a beautiful bride Kate Middleton turned out to be and I hope she and William have a more loving marriage than his parents. I can not believe it has been thirty years since Charles and Diana's wedding day and I remember it very clearly. I had only been married 3 years, no children yet, and my DH was a college student at Purdue and we were living in married student housing. I think I called in sick that day, so I would not miss a thing. Where in the world did the time go?
Thirty years later I am watching the TV with Fudge sleeping next to me. It feels right. Now, I just hope Fudge and Vern don't celebrate too much later in the day. After all, it is their first Royal Wedding!!

They are the cutest royal pair!
Laurie, I remember the "first royal wedding". I couldn't tear myself away from the tv that day! She was beautiful too... I remember thinking that they really didn't look head over heels in love. I also so clearly remember the day she died too... what a tragedy! I hope William and Kate have a wonderful life together!
As for Fudge and Vern.... No ONE canine or otherwise can top those two jolly ole' chaps!!!
I got up at 4, watched a little, set the dvr and then back to bed. At 6 I could no longer contain myself and ran down to start watching, actually had to back it up a bit to start when Kate got in her car.
I too watched his parents wed. It was very exciting. I was just about to get married myself so watching it seemed right.
I didn't like Diana's dress but boy did I love Kate's. Her dress was reminded me of my own mother's dress, the long lace sleeves the billowing gown.
I think I am obsessed because DH and I went to the courthouse to get married. DD's wedding fulfilled my need and now I just plain love weddings.
Here in the UK there was really no getting a way from it!
But we did have a good old traditional street party with the men sorting out the bbq's and the girlies sitting in front of the tv doing all the oohing and ahhing! I've never really been a proper royalist but I have to say I LOVED IT. Maybe I'm getting older and softer. It was a really lovely day, the sun came out and everything!
Loved Kates dress but how shocking did the two princesses look! To think of what they must have had to choose from and they came up with those monstrosities!
And then about half an hour after the fly-past at the palace, we say the planes coming home over our houses (we live near the RAF base) so that just topped it off! Fab!
