I NEED all of you ladies to help me out here (o.k. guys I'll listen to you too). #54 is coming up this June. I haven't colored my hair in 7 months, thought it might be time to go natural - like who am I kidding right?  Plus now I have Rooney's groomer to pay for so giving up a hairdresser seemed o.k.  But right now I look like I'm homeless - it is only about 1/3 grown out. What do I do - color it, cut it all off really short or just gut it out knowing that I'll be a foxy white down the road. Help.

Wear one of those nice golf hats and let it grow.  I'm right there with you. You are NOT alone.  I think it looks nice in the picture you posted.
Or...................  get highlights in brown and enter a look a like contest with Rooney.  I am going to enter one with Starlit~~ you know, black hair with white highlights here.
A little Inspiration for those contemplating going natural...and a little retort to those who think grey hair is "old" looking; Emmy Lou Harris, at 64:
OMD, Karen....I haven't thought of Emmy Lou Harris in years.  She is definitely "rockin" the gray hair.  I used to listen to her music a lot, but kind of lost track of her....."Even Cowgirls Get The Blues", and "Feelin Single, Seein Double"...the two songs I remember.  Anyway, if I had that face, I'd probably be confident enough to go natural.
now if I had her hair and that color grey I would have no problem going grey ....... however, I'm pretty sure mine won't be that color grey, and I definitely don't have her hair!
I think it's so unfair that that's the only color you can't get from dye! I would have done it years ago!

Heck, if I had that face, I'd be confident enough for anything!

Nothing wrong with your face, either, my friend!

I would love to have hair like her when I go gray.  Sadly I think mine will be like my grandmother's: thin and shapeless.
Nope, if you start out with masses of hair, you end up with masses of hair...maybe not quite as much as when you were younger, but lots. At least, that's what happened to me. And it got silkier, too...not as much frizz! There are a few bonuses in getting older!
My hair has already changed from its previous thickness.  It's NOT like it used to be and rarely as curly as it has been.  My mom's and grandma's thinned as they got older.  I've seen your hair and it is thicker than mine!

Beautiful BUT - I'm sure this re-touched.  No body is 64 and doesn't have 1 wrinkle on their face - I mean come on.

I agree Plastic Surgery AND retouched. But this is a pretty gray.
