Ayla's 1st haircut!

Ayla's 1st haircut took me 3 hours.  I'm glad i took both her & Storm out to run a bit before i got started, because Ayla was so relaxed the whole time that she lay down on the sofa while i trimmed her down with my shears.  I took off a good 2 1/2 inches. I wanted to leave about 1 1/2 inches on her. I need to go back and trim more around her eyes, i realize she looks cleaner with her hair real short around her eyes! :)

Thank You!  That was hard on by back!  I am a licensed hairstylist of 17 yrs, but doing this was tough!  I don't know how dog groomers do this all day!!!

 Thank You!  This was my 1st time. I made sure i gave a little kibble when she was being good.

I'm so glad Ayla loves getting brushed & groomed! But Storm, on the other hand, gets impatient! It must be due to the fact that i am using my old beauty school shears, that i never use anymore (that pair is getting rusty- & tends to pull!).   I usually have to do their sanitary trim in the bath tub. Like after washing dirty feet off. Storm  usually is stiff as  a statue in there!  So, i take advantage of that & i trim around the eyes in the bath tub & sanitary trim!!   :)

Thank You !  These photos were actually taken a few weeks ago. Been so busy lately with Ayla having tummy issues!  The last photo was taken this morning-  she's already looking shaggy around the face!   :)  And they are both due for a foot trim!!!!

Thank you! I just used my old shears (scissors) you can pick up  nice affordable ones up at the beauty supply- they're very good on your hands!   Just my shears & comb!  I did'nt want it to look too short.

I love the photos!  What a cutie she is!  I can't imagine mine staying calm through a grooming.  I surely admire you for taking that on.  She looks terrific!

Thank you!  The first few times that i tried to trim Ayla's face months ago, she thought it was a game & wanted to chomp my comb!   So, i would just stop & brush her out, which she loved that- & i would give her a little kibble & praise  for not moving.   So i guess she just got used to being brushed & massaged! :)
