How to Look Good Naked!!

There have been a lot of cases where because of matts, our doodles ended up naked. While Quincy has never been totally naked, the last time he actually went to a groomer he came darn close and it wasn't because he had matts. I had a long conversation with the groomer, gave her explicit instructions and a picture of what I wanted him to look like, it was not even close. It was that last grooming that inspired me to groom him myself.

While it wasn't a totally bad job, his head looked funny for months and he had razor burns on his belly and I'm not convinced they actually gave him a bath, he didn't have that nice fresh from the groomer smell and his feet still had green grass stains from a game of ball the night before. Here is a pic(not a very good one) of Quincy the day he got groomed. He looks angry.



I don't think he liked his new cut any better than I did. On the bright side, I didn't have to brush him for a few weeks.

Here are Daisy's before and after. Frankly the first week was a shock to look at her, now we kind of like it....of course it's been 2 months but she still doesn't have her long fur back, so much nicer to groom.
Most people still say "oh I like her fuzzier" I say " I love her either way". Her skinny legs have filled in though.

Lisa, I just can't get over the resemblance to Fudge in both pictures. I love the longer hair on Fudge, but she mats constantly and I think SHE likes the shorter do. Daisy is a cutie!!!

I like how her markings stand out so nicely when her hair is shorter! Either way she is just a doll!  Hopefully the shorter cut has not affected her ability to tilt. :)

Clifford and Little Cloud are with JackDoodle - naked with their fur on and they plan to stay that way.  (Shhhh, don't tell them they are headed to our grooming table this weekend.)

Here are my guys before and after "getting naked".  They really did look like scruffy bums in the "before" pictures.  They've since grown out a little, and I love their look now.
