A Happy Thanksgiving. The weather really varied across the country. Spoke to my family in Winnipeg, where is was a cold, rainy, fall day. I could almost smell the cool, fresh air, the wood fireplaces burning to keep the damp out of the houses, while the smell of turkey or ham being cooked made everyone hungry. Of course the pumpkin pies are sitting at the side of the table, waiting to be garnished with whipped cream or ice cream/ or both! There will always be an apple pie for those that don't like pumpkin - could there be such a person? In Mississauga for me, away from my family, I spent a beautiful 3 days hiking with my doodle puppy - Hudson - and enjoying the turning of the leaves; georgeous weather here. I spent Sunday afternoon at a friends house - but only stayed a short time because I didn't like leaving Hudson alone - I felt guilty because weekends I'm supposed to spend with him and couldn't take him with me! However, I had a nice visit and ate some great food that I didn't have to cook.

Hope everyone had a great long weekend and had many reasons to give their thanks.

It was beautiful here in Southern Ontario, and we took Toby out for a "hike" twice....not very long, since he's not very big, but it was nice. And no pies here - it was my son's birthday, so he got, as requested, a homemade ice cream bar cake. :)
