With all the rain the lawn is overdue to be mowed.  I have been trying to get some pictures of the hummingbirds and decided to carry the camera.  I was getting ready and noticed my two kids were hunting in the grass.  Which around here only means one thing, they're going on a SNAKE HUNT.  Even though I have tried to discourage this, it's been passed down and dogs will be dogs.  If I was not the person experiencing this, I probably would have a hard time believing it.  So today I put on my brave face since they were in the fenced yard and got the camera out.

Allyson this is for you, just kidding!

Apollo on point.

Clovers second hunting lesson (that I'm aware of).

Apollo catches it.

And the playing begins.

Clover joins back in.They notice me.

Now they start heading my way and drops it.

Here's the first toss headed my way.

I can't take it anymore and walk really fast around the side of the house.  Now I have a dead snake in the yard that needs mowed and can't seem to bring myself to do it.

No they are not poisonous, mostly garter, bull and water snakes around here.  It doesn't matter what kind they are it FREAKS ME OUT!
Great pictures and I am SO very  glad it was you holding the camera and not me.
Great pictorial.....my pics would have been severely blurred due to shaking hands!!!!    Your guys sure know how to stay entertained!!!!
Tina, I say MOVE!!! I would die of fright!!

OMD  -better you than me.

Oh YUCK!
OMD!!  Love the photo montage of the hunt!!  I would have been screaming if R&B had done this!!
I also love it that Clover is just along for the ride...Apollo is definitely the instigator!
Allyson, you are so right and I hope it stays that way.  Last time it was like a nest or something.  DH said he found several pieces belong to different ones.  I did not want to know how many and he did not want to tell in fear that I would no longer go outside, LOL.  Clover grabbing three was no surprise.  If there is a couple pairs of socks on the floor, she will stack or fold all the socks so she can carry them at once.
Oh No...oh no no no no no!!!
That is not cool, LOL...but it is kind of funny. I have NEVER seen a dog do that w/ a snake. Crazy dogs, I love that they actually fling the snake at you, lol. What a great sense of humor your dogs have, LOL.

PS. you're way too brave!
LOL LOL That is HILARIOUS!!!!!  What great photos!!  My DH is the one that freaks out over the snakes and the mice.

These pictures are AWESOME!  What I find even more amazing is that your dogs have passed this down.  Thanks for braving the snake for these pictures.  I believed your story but it's better in living color.
