From the usual small amount of input the consensus goes to photos of scenes at different times of day or with interesting shadows. Of course, manly themes, as was suggested for father's day, can be part of that. But really 99% of us active in this group are women although more male participation is welcomed. As it happens I have an example :) I posted in the garden group about a time lapse garden camera my son had given me.

Time Lapse

Here are three photos of the same scene at opposing ends of the day including one somewhat decent exposure mid day. Good thing white flowers jump out of the dark : ) I know we can do much better than this.

Thank you, GBK and Carol! :)
What a neat job in post processing...  The original image was nice but the objects in the corner distracted me.  This way, it is great!
Thanks! A lot of times when I take shots, I don't pay too much attention to what's in the background because I can "see" (in my mind) that it's not going to get in the way of my final image. :)
This is just incredible, your final version is just stunning, and the quote you have at the top is perfect. What a great photo to have mounted on your wall.
That is so amazing you did that in Photoshop.  I so have none of them skills.  I love what you did with the picture as I am sure does her mother.  That is frame worthy right there.  I too love the muscle pose in the shadow, so cool.
Absolutely perfect...you should be designing cards.
Gorgeous processing!! It's a framer for sure!!

Here's a couple shots with interesting shadows.  This first one is pretty self-explanatory, a horse is a horse, of course, of course.

My husband wanted concrete ballusters for the house we were building.  He bought the molds and cast them himself.  After they had cured, he carried them up and laid them out in the livingroom to inspect them.  I walked in a found him resting while my son inspected the rows.  I thought the lighting was cool so I snapped this picture.  For last Christmas, I had this printed on canvas and it hangs in our livingroom looking out on the installed ballusters.

Great shot, great work by hubby, and what a fantastic memory hanging in your living room!!!!!

Very, very true. Great shots and the balusters, I am in awe.
I always love looking at horse-y shots. And the 2nd photo - WOW! I am impressed on so many levels! The lighting and the warm tones are wonderful...and the fact that your husband cast these himself - that's just utterly remarkable! It's an outstanding photo AND story! :)
The horse shot is lovely.  The second shot of the ballusters is beautiful. I can appreciate the concrete work.  I was a secretary at a concrete company for 9 years and one of my hobbies is concrete sculpture.
