Have you already read our "What to Look for in a Breeder" page? That info is stuff I'd want my breeder to address:
-- Health testing on dam and sire as well as age of dam and sire. Personally I prefer to avoid buying a pup if the mom or dad was younger than 2 years old or first litter. Just because I want to know the history of what they've made before and have greater assurance of no health problems in either parent. Health testing is IMPORTANT, but some things can't be tested for and only show themselves after the age of 2. Not that things can't pop up later, but a lot will show up by then. Anyway, I'd ask for copies of the actual health certificates/testing for the various things: Hips, eyes, DNA for both parents.
-- I'd want to know about past litters and if any of the puppies from past litters have had allergies (those can be a PAIN to deal with and hard on the dog) or any medical conditions.
--I'd want to know a lot about the personality of the parents--actually meeting them if they both live with the breeder is ideal.
--I'd want to know what the health warranty is and all the specifics. To see the contract beforehand.
--How will pups be chosen? I trust breeders most when they don't allow choosing before pups are more mature: 6 weeks AT THE VERY EARLIEST. I don't like when breeders let people choose before that because you really can't make an informed decision and it makes me lose trust in the breeder when they more or less randomly let people choose based solely on looks.
Those are the first things that come to mind.
