It's time OHIO.   June 24th ( Friday ), Noon,  for a doodle romp at Bow Wow Beach in Stow, Ohio.
I know, I know, it is on Friday.  So CALL off work.  Your doodle is only young once.

The park is very crowded this time of year, but on Friday you have a 5-acre lake almost to  yourself.

We already have doodles from Michigan attending again.  Let that attest that it is worth the drive to come on down and join in the fun.

Bring a Doodle and a Beach Towel.  Dog Showers are provided  in the park but if you ask my dogs, they say skip this part.

The Park is Free.   You do not need to provide shot records or vaccinations.

There are many hotels located in Stow, Ohio and Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio if anyone is coming into town and would like to stay over night.  Kent, Ohio is also another alternative with lots of hotels, although, it is 17 minutes away from the park.    This is up to you~~ so  you would need to do a search and make these arrangements yourself.    If anyone finds a hotel in Stow,  Cuyahoga Falls, or Kent who welcomes dogs please post.

I am not in charge of this romp~~ just tired of sitting at home on Stay-Cation this summer and miss seeing all the doodles so I posted this suggestion.

Here is the website to get more information about the park.

There is:

  • Swimming
  • Dock Jumping
  • Dry Land~ for those doodles who prefer to not to walk on water  :)
  • Sand Digging!  Yes, you can Dig Here Doodles!

If only....I would look like a super model by the time I got there!
Can't Vern and Fudge pull you?
Linda, You are on to something here :)
Crap ..... I so wish I could join you guys, however, I've managed to get myself a ticket to a local professional grooming trade show that is that day.  It is supposed to be for people in the industry only, but I told them I do my own grooming and have some professional level equipment and am looking for more, so they said I would be able to come!  Don't want to miss the chance to get to check some of this stuff out.  I hope you guys have a great time.  Hopefully I'll be able to make the next one.

Sherri, if you came to this romp, your girls would  need grooming help.   Except for one grooming need I found the park provided that a professional groomer can't.

I saw a dog there last week who rubbed it's face in the sand all day.  The lady just laughed and said," She does this all day when we come here.  She is exfoliating her face"

That is funny ...... maybe I should come, I could probably use some exfoliating!

This sounds like so much fun!  Ohio can't be that far. I've already been in a dock diving competition and it was so cool.

(I heard Mom say something about the men "making fun" of me.  WTD is that all about?!!  I  did make Mom proud and jumped 18 feet on my first and only real jump. They didn't make fun of us anymore!...well except for me "walking" in the pool)

We can bring that little black thing while he still fits in the trunk. I'm sure someone along the way will take him.

Your Pal,

Murphy

PS  I heard they don't have alligators in Ohio!

What fun...  Holly, Sophie, Zoe and Skye would love to join in that play.  The lake operators here in San Diego County, California are usually pretty fussy about dogs not being in the water.  Most lakes don't allow human contact with the water either.

Funny coincidence, I just got an announcement from the Cuyahoga genealogical Society.  Here is their website in case anyone is interested...

Richard, this is a Spring fed lake that use to be for humans a few years back they closed it due to budget cuts, now it is a designated dog park...only dogs get to swim. We use to go there in the summer so our daughter could swim when we lived in Stow. There were always little fish that would nibble at your legs - really little fish, like minnows.
Looks like we may be able to make it!

Ann, thought you were way way way out West!   YIPPIE SKIPPY DOODLE DAY

Also, just got mail from Jackie of JBAdorable Doodles.   She is very busy with 9 puppies, born by C-section last week but did say, she scheduled the day off and plans on coming down to Stow!

Looks like we have ourselves a ROMP!!!

We haven't left yet and the romp would be our first stop on vacation.  Sheba and Duke are hoping that the weather is good and they can come and play.  They were groomed and their coats are really short!  No matting from swimming!  Yay!
