Lucca is 2 1/2 years old and Izzy is 7 1/2 months. Lucca is calm. Izzy is a crazy rambunctious puppy. I find us (including myself) telling Izzy to calm down, etc very frequently. I have started reminding my family members that she is JUST a puppy and we have to remember this. Lucca is so calm I think we expect Izzy to be calm too:) But that's just not going to happen at this point!!
Do any of you out there get stuck in this scenario? Where you kind of forget the puppy is just a puppy and you can't expect more than that?
No problems here...just curious.

I'm with you Carla. Thought our story is a bit different. Latte probably doesn't have as much energy as Izzy.
But I also had higher expectations for Latte. Mochi learned to use door bell in ONE day at about the same age. Since then he has never peed/poop indoors, and I remember that was when he was about 3 months old.
Well. I got a poochie bell for Latte. Thought this is much easier to learn than the one Mochi uses ( a teller bell that Mochi uses his paws to tap on it).
I've been teaching Latte to use the poochie bell since the day she came. it's been a month and she still doesn't know that she should use it to tell us she wants to go out! I had to point at the bell so she'd use it.
If I don't give her any hints to tell her to use the bell, she'd just sit by the door and wait, then she'd fall asleep and give up. (Good thing I think she already knows not to pee/poop indoors, she hasn't done that for over 2 weeks).
What I'm saying is, that I now realized how smart Mochi is and how ...not smart Latte is :(
Mochi learned to use bell in 1 day vs Latte still doesn't know how to use it after 1 month.
Mochi learned to shake hands within a few minutes while it took Latte almost an hour to learn one easy trick.
Well. That's the only thing I had higher expectations for Latte. Other than that she's a very sweet girl and less stubborn than Mochi.
