We are going to Nashville tomorrow and we are staying at the Sheraton Downtown. It is a pet friendly hotel. I have never brought a furry child with me to stay at a hotel so I have no idea what to expect. I have her vaccination records on my phone. I will obviously bring her food and toys and such, but is there anything I should bring with me that I am not thinking about? I don't know how she is going to do in the room by herself. She does not chew on anything and she is over the accident stage, but I don't know if she is going to bark. The only time she barks at home is when she sees someone outside or she hears a "threatening" sound. Any tricks anyone has used? Any and all suggestions welcome. This is a last minute trip to go to see U2 on Saturday and another concert on Sunday (DH is more excited about this one, as you can tell I can't even remember the name of the band).

FYI my husband and I went to Memphis last year.  Downtown is lovely and is safe.  It's just really really hot (it was never below 100 when we were there).

Maybe you want to bring your doodle's bed with you too?

I have traveled with my dogs and select dog friendly hotels (motels).  However, I have never left the dogs alone in a room as they tend to bark when anybody walks by.  We live in the country, so they are not used to foot traffic by the door.  If I am unable to take the dogs with me, I get a dog sitter to stay with them in the room.  Students make very good dog sitters, or the hotel may have a list of people willing to sit with your dogs.
Ooooh U2! Have fun!

Welcome to Nashville!  I think you are close to the Bicentennial Mall  - there are spraying fountains and nice walking paths.  Not far from downtown is Centennial Park.  Centennial Park is a very nice place to walk dogs - there is even a dog park for you to let her run and play.

I usually don't leave my dog in the hotel room alone much but if I did I would leave the radio or TV on - especially on a channel that you watch at home.  This way there are familiar sounds which may drown out the "threatening" sounds.

Have fun and let us know how it goes :-)
