Sophie Bear Gets Groomed!

Hi Everyone, I took Sophie Bear to her first full grooming today. As per the advice I got in the grooming group, I filled in the 'doodle doo' checklist and brought pictures of doodle styles I like. She decided to do her own thing, well, she sort of talked me into letting her. I've never brought a dog for a grooming before so was insecure about what to ask for. I should know better by now, I always get the best advice on DK, better advice than at the pet store, better than the vet, so why not better than the groomer? What can I say I'm a pushover!

 

Anyway, despite the fact taht she looks likea bobblehead, I kind of find her cute in a goofy sort of way. Her skinny legs are hilarious. And she's a happy girl so that's all that matters. Now I can take her swimming without worrying about mats, and she'll be so much easier to bath.

 

I'd really like to know everyone's honest impressions. How would you rate the ob the groomer did, and what would you have done differently?

personally I prefer her in the pre-groomed photos, but thats only because I prefer the longer fur that shows the curls to the shaved look. However, as a shave, I think the groomer did a pretty good job. Her head does look a bit too poofy and too big for her body, but a spritz of water might cure that. Not so sure about the tail - it doesnt look very doodly, more racoony, but again, if its fluffy from the groom then a spritz of water will fix that. She does look very velvety, and such a beautiful colour. She certainly looks happy!

thanks for the tips Kaytlin. We went swimming and her poof isn't so bad now. The groomer actually didn't touch her tail, just brushed it out. It looks a bit weird in the photo because it's bent up against the fence so you can't see it all. It's definitely a doodley tail.
