We are waiting for the litter to be born.  I feel like a stalker on here several times a day and on the breeders website.  :)  I'm sure she thinks I am nuts and don't have anything better to do with my time, with all of my follow up emails.  LOL  We are hoping for a large, curly, blonde to red male.  Our 15 year old was like "mom you act like you are having a baby, reading everything and looking at all the dog stuff".  It doesn't hurt to be prepared does it?!? :-)  I'm too excited and I can't wait.

Welcome Stephanie!  I have been waiting for my pup for almost 1 year now ...and we go and pick him up this Sunday at 8 weeks old.  I did exactly as you and actually, needed the time to research and prepare!  It's been a long time since I've had a puppy and there is a lot to learn from 17 years ago, which is when we got our Westie who was laid to rest last summer.  This site if fabulous!  A lot to learn about food, grooming, training, etc., etc.  So read, research and prepare.  It will all be so worth it!  Keep us posted.  The 8 weeks flew by!  (Scroll down and see my little Jackson).
He is too cute.  I have read a lot of your post (been stalking for a while, hehehehe).  I can't wait to read more after you pick your baby up this weekend.  Congrats!!!

Congrats...that's exciting news!  Do you know when the litter is due?  It is a tough wait.  Finding stuff (doodle related or not) to occupy your time is key!  I was ok the first few weeks after the pups were born and now I am nursing my doodle fever with prepping the house, buying supplies, etc.  LOL.  All a lot of fun, but I just remind myself that I am probably going to be WISHING I had downtime the first few weeks the puppy comes home, LOL!

The 16th, next weekend.  :(  It is too fun to get to look and buy all the fun stuff.  We haven't started buying anything yet because our two youngest don't understand time yet.  The two year old and 15 year old wouldn't be to bad, but the 6 year old can't be told anything that is going to happen two days from now without driving everyone in the house mad.  LOL  And we are really going to have to puppy proof the kids toys that they never seem to pick up.

We are hoping they will be on time, we have already found a puppy trainer and her next class will start when he is 9 or 10 weeks old.  But if not we will work around it.

This site has saved ME from Doodle Madness!!!!  I don't know what I would have done without it.  I have learned so much here and everyone has been awesome! You are gonna love it here.  I don't have my pup yet, he was just born this past Sunday, so I still have to wait 7 more weeks.  And I know exactly how you feel about being a "stalker"!    Welcome~
Congrats on the new puppy.  Doodle Madness explains it to a "D".  I felt like I was being crazy when I posted that earlier.  Thanks to everyone for being so welcoming.
The only thing that could make that waiting worse is if I had an Android app Widget for Doodle Kisses.  My husband would probably divorce me.  LOL

I don't want to break up a marriage... but have you tried the mobile version of Doodle Kisses?  Check it out:

It works GREAT on Android, iPhone, webOS... you name it!

I got it to work on my Android, but it would let me respond very well. :(
I'm flattered Stephanie!!  :)  I woke up this morning and thought just 2 more mornings until life gets pretty chaotic!  I swear...it's reminincent of the days I lay waiting to shake my husband and tell him, "it's time!!"  I'm excited and nervous all at the same time!  While I've been shopping for "stuff" for months now (you should see my secret cabinet - my husband has no idea!)....I actually have to run out and get a collar and dog food before Sunday!!!  Admittedly, that's one area I learned much...food!  Gave my Westie the same kibble and she lived until 17 but she did have stomach issues.  Unbelievable the poor quality that makes up most of the big, name brand foods in the supermarkets!  My breeder feeds the pups Acana Grain Free Prairie formula because it is a food for all life stages and I won't have to transition the puppy to adult food.  Fortunately, I do have a boutique pet store right in my home town that carries EVERYTHING mentioned here in these forums...all the high quality items.  Do you have such a pet store in your home town? I guess you'll be getting your pup some time in November?

I am so excited for you.  I know food is one of the things with our dogs in the past we have had to really watch.  When our Maltese was still with us, he was allergic to fleas and grass.  Did horrible things to him. Even on flea control if he got bitten by them he would have a reaction.  And he had a sensitive stomach, which the vet put him on their "prescription" dog food, I soon researched them and changed it.

My husband and I have talked and I think we will switch him to Acana as well when he comes home.  Slowly of course. We don't have a pet store near us.  We moved out in the middle of NO WHERE! It is about 50 miles to nearest retail chain pet store which wont carry Acana.  But there is a pet food store just a little further north of that and we will probably start out purchasing it from them and then finding an online store to send it monthly.  Our little Wal-Mart doesn't even sale groceries here, so the nearest Wal-Mart is 30 miles South, East or North of us.  We should have a fully functioning Wal-Mart this coming January though.

Have fun trying to contain your excitement over the next couple of days.

Steph
