I'll post new pieces here as I paint them. I hope others will do the same and start their own threads in the Art Cafe! :)

All I have to say is WOW!  I just went through all of your pictures and your work is unbelievable.  I want one!  Do you do this as a business?  If not, you should be.   If you do, please give me details to have you do a portrait of my doodles for me.
Thank you, Jane! Yes - when time permits, I love painting portraits for friends - especially of pets. You can see some of my work on my website: http://www.labellgallery.com (see Portfolio: Paintings.) Here's my email address: linda@labellgallery.com :)
Great pictures and great painting!

Linda - You never cease to amaze me!!!!   I can't stop looking at this....I just love it LOVE IT LOVE IT!!!!!!

Keep sharing!!!

Fabulous job Linda.
Thank you, F! :)

It feels soooooo nice to finally have time to do some painting again! Here's a photo of a bear at the zoo that my friend Jeanne shared with me:

I thought, "Wouldn't it be cute if he was climbing that mountain to take a closer look at something?"

Here are some closeups:

Aww. What an imagination you have. It belongs in a children's book!

Thank you, F!  It would be so much fun to illustrate my own picture books! I've actually written several, plus one for slightly older girls. ("Kristie Logan and the Secret of the Hidden Room.") I'm trying to finish a reference book this summer for writers/songwriters, called "An Extraordinary Book of Ordinary Words." lol! I'm going to roll them out under my own publishing company.

What I'm really chomping at the bit to start on is a book (or possibly a screenplay) on one of my ancestors who was an officer in the Revolutionary War. In his Will, he left instructions to free all of his slaves and sell his cotton plantation to provide passage for them back to Africa and establish a college. (Can you imagine the controversy this created?!) Sure enough, it turned into a fierce Supreme Court battle that lasted 12 years. The shocking climax of this true story will leave you speechless. Great fodder for heated discussions and classroom debates on the topic, "At what price, freedom."

Yeah, I know, I know... "My name is Linda Bell. I'm an over-achiever." (sigh)

[sticking tongue out and blowing raspberries]

Wow, who knew all that you do? And the ancestor story sounds fascinating and I'm looking forward to the book. We're waiting!
Hi Linda, I just love your work. Are you painting on the computer or is this on a canvas.  I'm confused about the medium?
Hi Deanna! I paint these on my computer using Photoshop and Corel Painter. And then I print a canvas Giclee (or a watercolor print). On some paintings, I go over the canvas with (real) pastels and acrylics.
