Nothing happens. You wash them just like the fur. I've had some in my hair and you can even use the curling iron on them. Kathy & Lausha

For the linkies (different colors) I use 4.5 and 5 mm. I can get about 5 feathers into one bundle http://www.doctoredlocks.com/catalog/Linkies-Extension-Supplies/  If you can find the linkies with the silcone centers get them instead. Less damage to the hair.

Way cool!  I bought a few pink bows for Rua but I couldn't figure out how to get them in her hair.  I went on-line and found instructions, but I don't have hemostat.  I keep forgetting to get one.  I am thinking pink feathers for Rua.  Thanks for sharing.

Feathers seem to be the new fad here in AZ as well. Just not for dogs. My two would rip them out of eachothers head. Poor Bella has tufts of hair being pulled out of her head everyday as it is. Cute, but no can do here.

I've seen those where I get my nails done.  They are all the rage with the teenagers.  I think Bo would look quite the stud with some feathers in his hair.
