hair between pads...

Clipping the hair between the pads makes me nervous....I am so worried about nipping the pads! Is there any danger using the clipper between the pads? I know you recommend doing that Barb....but is there any danger I might do some damage? I have mastered doing all the rest of the grooming (well, as mastered as a novice can be LOL).....and this is the only part that worries me. Well almost. I am also worried about getting too close to his little privates with the clipper....

We always use the clipper between the pads.  Splay the pads and then shave down on each side between the toes.  I think it is definitely more dangerous using scissors between the pads.  Then place the pad on the floor and scissors cut around the foot.  They get used to having their feet handled and don't mind the buzz of the clippers.  Also the belly cut is better with the clippers.  You can use a little larger head on the clippers so he doesn't itch, but I think that clippers are much safer than the scissors.

so - I can use the clippers 'on' his boy part ? I have just been going up close to it.....and then hubby starts to squirm and makes me stop!!!

I got to the last part and laughed out loud.  Very typical, I think.  I am so glad you asked this question...I have been working on Rua on and off for a week.  I did a bit on her tummy and pee-pee (with the clippers) and did about around her little bottom.  I actually got her lever (tail) to go up enough that I could zero in on it!  LOL.  I did try to clipper between her pads, but Lynda's explanation really helps so'll I'll go back and try more.

I am beginning to realize clippers aren't the scary things I thought they were....thanks for the video link! Very helpful..
