Looking for a great toothpaste!

I tried posting this in the grooming group, but no responses :(

We've had a bit of a change-over with Lola's food lately, and with that, she's having a bit of some "soft poops", and for whatever reason, her current toothpaste (Triple Pet) seems to be making it MUCH worse. What do you all use/recommend????? TIA!

For some dogs the high protein causes loose stools, for others it caused firmer stools. Try switching to Acana, its very similar to orijen (same company) but less protein. Some do have grains though

Thanks, Kaitlyn!! We'll look into Acana for sure! Ill have to see what kind of grain is in it as lola does not react well to certain grains.

Wally likes the taste of C.E.T. Home Dental Care's vanilla-mint flavored toothpaste.  It's made by Virbac Animal Health out of Canada.  I buy it at the vet's office.  It smells good, too.

Hi Laurie....we actually switched Lola off of that one because it was having effects on her poop as well!! It does smell good though!

Sunny used to have issues with soft poops too. I use Virbac's C.E.T poultry flavored toothpaste for her, and it doesn't seem to cause a problem.

 

I also have her eating BilJac sensitive stomach food. She's picky, so at least she eats this one.

we sell alot of Petrodex toothpaste, but I dont brush Coopers teeth so i dont know what it does to the tummy....

Id stop using toothpaste and just use the brush til the food switch is complete and her tummy has settled

We use Petrodex poultry flavored-the only way I can get them to get their teeth brushed, they love the stuff! (Petsmart)

I use Triple Pet vanilla flavor toothpaste on Camus' teeth.  He likes it and it does a good job.
