******Thanks for the tip on the toddler underwear, which looks more comfy to you?  LOL.  You guys are the best!

Two steps forward - one step back.

So poor Stuart went to get neutered today and I just brought him home - wearing his cone.  I thought he might be happiest in his crate in the kitchen so that he could see Rooney and I and us him.  Well he is like a drunk coming off a bender and that cone in the metal crate made an awful noise, just as Rooney had walked over to see what was going on with Stuart.  I've never seen Rooney bolt so fast with a look like the devil was after him!  He is now terrified.  So I've moved Stuart into the soft sided crate in our bedroom but now Rooney won't go any place near it.  It is kinda funny actually but I feel bad for Stuart for not feeling well and having to wear the cone and now Rooney's in a funk because he's afraid, is it time for a glass of wine yet?  LOL.

Jane, try a pair of boxers instead of the cone and see if they work and there is also a soft cone you can get. Good Luck, it's 5 o'clock somewhere.
Donna - I'm not sure what you mean with the boxers.  Also hubby doesn't wear those so what will the neighbor lady think if I go to her husband and ask for his underwear - lnao!!!!!!!  Seriously - I have some soft short type pj's that are similar that might work but I'm not getting it!

tighty whities work too.

;o)

except DH's tighty whities will be way too big on Stuart - ha ha, and so would the boxers...need to run to KMart and buy kid's boxers.
Any kind of clothing that covers the area so that he can't lick it will work. Did you see the pics I recently posted of Quincy in his brothers boxers, they worked well and put on backwards the fly is in the right place for that little tail. Of course you have to debrief, or in this case deboxer for pottying. I wish I had know this when Quincy had his surgery, he had a terrible time with the cone and kept running into things and going up steps was a real challenge.

It's time for 2 glasses...1 for you & one for poor Stuart!

(make that 3 - I had 5 boys at my house today!!!)

Jane, Lots of people use boy's size boxers to cover the area so the dog won't lick. Or a soft cone might do the trick too. If you search, I think some people have even posted pictures of their dog in the boxers. Hope Stuart feels better soon and Rooney decides there is nothing to be afraid of with Stuart and his cone.
I guess my blonde was coimg back after all these years.. I couldnt figure out how boxers on his head would help..
LMAO Mimi!!!!!   You are TOO funny!    Cracking up here!

Go ahead and have the glass of wine :)

Poor doods!!!

thank you for posting this.. I just about spit mt dew through my nose reading and laughing..you made my day.  Hope Stuart feels better.  look like wine time to me.
Well crap - the bigger issue is that Rooney is slinking around the house like something is about to get him!  He is half walking and half crawling in fear with eyes bulging out of his head, he is terrified by the look of that cone on Stuart.   Meantime Stuart is bawling.  I'll try to get to the store tomorrow for some boy's sized undies.  I'd video all of this but I'd start crying or else laugh so hard that I'd pee.
