Just how personal do you want to get?!?

I have a question for you... would you want to stay with other DK members when you are traveling?  Would you want to host DK members that are traveling?

 

On a different social network today (on the same platform as us) I saw a feature that allowed you to search for other members that would host your stay while in their city.  Call it couch surfing, spare bedroom squatting, whatever.  It sounded like it could be fun.

 

I would set up a new page where you could search for hosts in a given city or state.  You could then contact them and work out the details.  What do you think?  Would you want to do that?

 

To make it work you would just have to answer one additional question to your profile:  "Would you host other DK members as overnight guests in your home?"

 

Let me know what you think.  I could set it up in a few hours and it might be a hoot.  I know I would only be a little scared of what Laurie, Fudge, and Vern said about us after their visit to Walla Walla.  :-)

I think it is true....It would all depend on what members of DK it was. I think over time, we have all built up a rapport with certain, familiar members and therefore, already feel we do have some form of "relationship". Just having a doodle really does not make one connect enough to invite strange people into your home. I have actually met a few doodle owners (none that are on this website) who were actually quite "snotty" to say the least, until I actually mentioned to them that I too have doodles at home etc. etc. but up until that time, they actually appeared quite "bored" with my attention towards their dog. Therefore, I feel all doodle owners are not lovely...except most of the ones on this site :) ha ha

Oh my the details.

I have been invited to stay at several DK homes the past few years. I have also welcomed their dogs to come stay while they vacation. But oh my......  How many let their dogs on the couch?  Clark, my dogs would walk in your home and plop right down on that cozy couch.  That would go over well!  They won't beg for food, they go to bed early, but that furniture of yours would be a DREAM VACATION for them.    We are going Onion Hunting and will see you next week.

Okay, what I am getting at here is the etiquette of human  house guests is sometimes difficult ( my sons are now included in that last comment) but DOGS.  How do I read the rules to them?

But of course, it sounds like fun. More fun for some, than others.

Well I think like others say, I would have to know them a bit thru DK...If I were traveling and passing thru an area I would just message individuals that I knew enough to see if we could stay or just stop in..  I don't know if I would be comfortable posting an Open House on a public page...
