Frontline or Advantage

My vet wants me to use Frontline Plus on Amante. I agree that I need to use something since we are big campers. Since my little Lucy died because I followed advise of my old vet. I have trust issues. Does anyone share my fears??

I'm so sorry your Lucy died.  You do not mention why or how so I'll assume it was from Flea and Tick applications?

If you feel that strongly please do a search here on DK for homemade and natural remedies for flea and tick problems.  There have been several in the past and maybe we can go from there in this new and timely discussion.  Forgive me, I do not remember the names of the natural products at this time.

There is also natural products posted on the internet that you may want to consider.

Thank you so much for your words of comfort. I do not know for sure if it was the frontline or the dog food prescribed by my vet that I later found out was a  full of preservatives that are linked to causing cancer. It was an awful time for me.

My Amante will never replace Lucy, but I love him just the same. I am very obsessed with his care and well being. I have been doing research and have come across several possibilities for prevention. Thanks Again!

We do use Frontline plus I'm sure people have opinions both ways but I fear ticks very much. Good luck to you-do some research call around etc, good luck!

I use Vectra 3D on the recommendation of my vet.  My dogs have had no problems.

I use Frontline Plus and it seems to work well for my dogs.

We use Frontline Plus and have had no problems. We also use it on Lily, who is only 12 weeks old.  Protection from ticks is so important. They have been bad this year (there were a few postings/discussions about that earlier in the summer).

We now use Frontline Plus after Cubbie had mild reactions to both Comfortis (pill) and Wormshield (topical).  So far so good with the Frontline Plus though.
