Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

I just responded to someone else's blog about losing a nanny job. She was saying that she was losing $300 a week to babysit a "demon". I got to thinking.......I am paying an arm and a leg for Allie to stay at a really nice boarding/ daycare center. Now I am paying extra for a private room with a window and day care every day, but it comes up to $62 a day. Do you think she is spoiled? I was going to pay my niece $300 for the week to stay at my house, but she backed out at the last minute. My mom usually keeps Allie but she just moved and is a little stressed, so I did not want to add to it. Therefore, I was a little stuck. How much do you pay for boarding your doodle? I think I should be afraid to ask.......

We pay about $42 for her to stay at Daycare.  She is out all day playing with friends and then in a crate at night and she doesn't mind it.

The best news I have had recently is from Teri - Chloe's guardian mom is starting an in-home business of keeping doods (and non-doods) in her home for $20 or something per day.  I have met her and will definitely give her a try sometime soon.

You could drive to Nashville....lol

Boarding for Pippin is 25 dollars for 24 hours.  We provide the food.  For both our dogs, 40 dollars for 24 hours.
If we board D&K together it is about $75-78 per night.  Dex has been going to an animal hospital for boarding since his knee surgery so it is ~$40 per day for Dex and $45 per day for Kirby.  $62 per day for 1 dog sounds like a lot to me and we are in a very high cost of living area.  However if you are happy with the place and can afford it then go for it.

I paid $85 per night for my two doods last January.  We leave next week for another vacation and if I were to send them to the animal hospital for boarding again it would have cost me around $1200.  So I decided to send Maggie to my sister's house for free and she already has a doodle so Maggie will have company.

KoKo will be going to a residency program for the two week training program (AKA Boot Camp).  The cost for the two weeks is $1195 and I get more than just boarding, I get a trained doodle.  Maggie and Rosie (my granddaughters doodle) both went through this program with great success.  I felt this was a much better use of my money than just having someone "mind" my doodles.
