I changed it to Reviews. Is that better?
I think so. I'm just trying to keep things from being too jumbled and no one should have to apologize for posting in the wrong spot I hope.
Sometimes my enthusiasm gets the best of me, F!  Feel free to move/remove, change or edit any of my threads. *hug*
I get that way too. But no I wouldn't want to change anything without discussing it. Let me know if you have any good ideas for organizing things.
Has anyone seen Blue Valentine with Ryan Gosling and Michelle Williams?  I'm having a really hard time rating this one.  The acting was absolutely amazing, but this was one tough movie to watch.  Parts of it are pretty raw, but the story itself is compelling.  Just wondering of others have seen it and what their thoughts were.
Last night our power was out for 5 hours and my DH hooked up the generator so we could watch a movie. I am borderline nuts when the power goes out and opted to go to bed, but he and my DD stayed up and watched Blue Valentine. Today, my DD and I went to see Friends with Benefits and I thought it had a lot of sex in the movie. We were talking about it afterwards and my DD said, "mom, that was nothing compared to Blue Valentine and I had to watch it with DAD...LOL."  My DH said it took him most of the movie to figure out it was told in flashbacks. We all had a good laugh at that. I plan on watching it soon.
Ewwww, I can't even imagine watching that movie with your Dad.  That's pretty funny that your DH didn't get the "flashbacks"....I'm not sure my DH would get this movie at all.
I want to see Blue Valentine. It's been on Demand but I haven't ordered it. I loved Ryan Gosling in The Notebook.
Denise, Ryan Gosling is great in Crazy, Stupid Love!!
This is a slightly older movie, but I give "Everybody's Fine" 4 doodles. It is funny, touching, and made me cry.

It's about a lonely father (widower) who is trying to get his children together for the holidays. Drew Barrymore, Robert De Niro, Kate Beckinsdale are in it.

DVD: "Date Night" - 4.5 Doodles. My DH and I laughed out loud several times during this movie. It was hilarious.

Movie Theater: "Judy Moody" - 2 Doodles. I took my 5 yr old granddaughter to see this. It was cute, but half way through Jenna (who really enjoys movies) said, "Is it almost over, Nana?" Wait till it comes out on Netflix.

We really may have to invent a spoiler warning.

Zookeeper (with Kevin James) gets 5 Doodles!  Maybe I should say 4 Doodles and reserve 5 for extraordinarily good movies. But this one was REALLY great!

My DH and I took our grandson to see it. It was laugh-out-loud funny, "clean" enough for the whole family to enjoy, and had enough adult humor to keep parents/grandparents entertained. Here's the trailer:http://youtu.be/pNJxxRi7AeE

I highly recommend that you WATCH OUT for this on DVD. :)

I just took my DS and grand daughter to see this yesterday.  I completely agree...it was a perfect movie for a family to see.  I think 5 Doodles in the family movie category.

I really liked _Super 8_. I saw it twice--once by myself and once with my DH. When we were leaving the theatre, he said, "That was really much better than I thought it would be!"

Some of the violence (crashes and explosions--not shooting at people or one-on-one fighting) is a little intense for small children, but 10 and up should be fine.

I would give _Super 8_ 4 doodles!

Yes! That was a FUN movie! I agree, considering it's a family movie, it's a bit too scary for kids under 10. Glad I didn't take my 8 year old grandson - he's going thru a "scared of zombies" phase right now.

Usually, our family goes to the movies once a year...Christmas Day. This year, my DH and I have started going to movies a lot on the weekends. So far, I have seen:

Water for Elephants,     4 Doodles, Very hard to watch some of the scenes involving the elephant and I actually wanted to leave, but we stuck it out and I was glad I did.

Bridesmaids,  5 Doodles, I have seen it three times....nuff said!

Horrible Bosses, 4 Doodles, I laughed out loud a lot. My DH fell asleep. My DD laughed out loud too.

Something Borrowed, 4 Doodles, More of a chick flick. I liked it fine and did go buy the book.

Larry Crowne, 1 Doodle, This pains me to give it one doodle, because I love Tom Hanks and Julia Roberts. Julia Robert's character was hard to like, even a little. Two many characters that did not add to the film. I was bored.

Friends with Benefits, 4 Doodles, Very predictable, good way to spend a hot, Sunday afternoon.

What a lot of doodles. I wonder if we're going to get to the point you do with the pro movie critics, where you think some are too kind and others quite the opposite.
I am an easy judge. If I feel like I didn't throw money down the drain (Larry Crowne) I probably will give it at least 4 Doodles. Usually, if Siskel and Ebert liked a movie, I hated it. They were the only ones I ever watched for movie reviews and I just did the opposite of what they said :)
At least you had a clear cut plan.

Good to know about Larry Crown. I've been debating whether to see it. I love Tom Hanks and Julia Roberts but the reviews have been very lackluster. I've also been thinking about going to see Horrible Bosses. It sounds like I would enjoy that one a lot more.
