As I enjoy one of my favorite lunches - a yummy peanut butter and lettuce sandwich - I am questioning myself.  All due to starting Adina's healthy eating starting Aug. 1., I'm sure.  Is peanut butter and lettuce considered healthy?  O.K. maybe not the bread but it was whole wheat.  I'm the kinda person that could reasonably argue that Milk Duds are healthy - hey - there is LOTS of milk in chocolate and carmel.  I'm probably a lost cost on the weight loss thing with this kind of thinking.  DH thinks my sandwich is repulsive, I say there are weirder combos that peanut butter and lettuce.  So what is your weirdest sandwich?

Chips in sandwiches are yummy!  They add a nice crunch =)

One that I had often as a child: canned pineapple rings with mayonnaise on white bread.

One that I had recently and was surprised at how delicious it was: pimento cheese with turkey slices on wheat bread.

I also love sharp cheddar cheese with sweet things, like apple pie or strawberry preserves. The cheddar-strawberry combo is usually on crackers, not a sandwich.  And I'm a big fan of cream cheese and hot pepper jelly on crackers.

Also fond of a biscuit with strawberry preserves and a slice of bacon--does that count as a sandwich?

I only have one thing to add to this delicious discussion, try the pineapple rings with cream cheese instead of mayo, it's gooood!

Peanut butter, cream cheese, banana and chocolate chips on whole wheat.

I love the turkey, cranberry and cream cheese combo though and I just happen to have all the makings in the fridge RIGHT NOW!!!  C YA!!!

Have you ever fried it like a grilled cheese sandwich and rolled it in powdered suger?  If not try it.
Wow--that sounds odd and worth trying.
My brothers eats PB, banana, chocolate chips on white bread then fries it and rolls it in powdered sugar.  IMO it is more like a dessert.
This made me think of another favorite of mine -- a desserty one-- nutella and cream cheese.
if you add grape jelly it's similar to a Monte Cristo (or Crisco which is probably what it should be called).
ha ha ha ha
I have two "comfort" sandwiches from childhood....Grilled Swiss cheese with Miracle Whip (added after cooking) and Peanut Butter (Crunchy) and Jelly with Wise Potato chips on the sandwich! MMMMmmmm

Jane, does this taste like PB and Celery?
