Holy moly......

Little background here.  Jim and I are off and on empty nesters.  Our son is 23 so it has been years since we have had to get up at the crack of dawn and chase around a toddler.

All of our pets are seniors (2 cats) so they are pretty set in their ways.  Sleep the majority of the time...

Then here comes Bailey.  We are up when the sun comes up,.  No lounging on the couch for me in the AM til I decide when I want to get up. No playing on the computer til ...whenever....

This little girl is a ball of endless energy, we are playing ball at dawn, she is rolling around the wet grass trying to eat everything in site...getting into trouble... trouble.... trouble....LOL

Just needed to vent....

AND right now the only way I can even type this is she is in a play area that is blocked off

These times won't last (too) long! Enjoy them...I look back on pics of Caspie when he was a puppy & want to snuggle him to pieces (I do that now anyway - I practically eat him up!!) Take LOTS of pics : )
Puppies are like kids..they keep you young, but first they make you feel old :)  This must be the first time I was grateful my kids still wake up at 6 am.  At least I'm already in the early riser mode.  Once Calli is an old lady like myself, maybe we can sleep in together.
It turns your life upside down to have a puppy, but SO worth it!

we will be right there with you come Friday..

I tell ya, I have two kiddos 4 and 6. I think puppies are harder then babies! :)

It will get easier :) Lucy now likes to sleep in with me when she has a chance and she's not even 1 yet

Puppies may be harder than babies.. but dogs are easier than teenagers:) You know where they are at all times, they can't drive, slam their bedroom doors and scream "I hate you", or roll their eyes, and they don't spend all your money to  go to college..however they can't give you grandbabies or call you when they have kids and say "I am sorry Mom for everything I put you through".
Oh my puppies can be a handful indeed!  I always allowed myself to confine my puppy when I needed to get things done.  If a floor needed cleaning and I knew puppy would get in the way, puppy went into the crate.  If I needed to be on the computer, phone, do laundry, whatever and puppy would pester for attention or get in trouble or would be likely to potty when I wasn't looking...then puppy went into his crate (or expen).  Same went for anything else.  Or puppy would get leashed.
