Does anybody have a doodle or any other dog that has had issues with their teeth. Kona is 7 1/2 months old and has some erosion of enamel?? I looked on the net, and it sort of looks like enamel hypoplasia. I will take him to the vet to have it looked at, but I was wondering if anyone has any experience with this condition? Any ideas about what else it might be or what the causes are? Thanks for the help.

Does he chew or play with tennis balls? I had read that tennis balls are very abrasive and can cause damage to their teeth. I would also ask the breeder if any of the other dogs have this problem as it may be genetic.
Thanks. He does not play with tennis balls, but he does chew bones and other toys. I was actually able to talk with our vet today (we ran into him when we were out for a walk)!! and I will be taking Kona in for an appointment. The wear in enamel is not due to the teeth rubbing against one another, so the vet thinks it could be enamel hypoplasia. He mentioned that there can be a genetic factor, but said that he has seen it happen independent of that as well. He will be checking to see if the wear has penetrated the pulp or root of the tooth which would cause pain or sensitivity, and he will then make recommendations regarding treatment. I will let you know what the outcome is. Thanks for the suggestion.
