Your doodle's strange routines

[J and Riley (and Luna)]

Does your doodle have any odd routines that you find entertaining (or annoying)?

 

Share them!  I would love to hear about how other peoples' little creatures of habit go about their day.  Photo evidence is a plus!

 

Here are a few of Luna's:

 

- Before she goes to sleep in her own bed, she demands some cuddle time up on her bed.  She can't get up there herself, so she stands on her hind legs and paws at the covers until the skyhook (tall 2-legged dog) takes her up.

- She MUST go outside before her morning meal, but doesn't do anything.  She just stands on the deck for 5 seconds and comes back in.  (2 months and 8 months, same spot)

- Before coming all the way down the stairs, she ALWAYS sits in this spot and has to be tempted down further with the promise of play, food or interesting kitchen noises:  (4 months and 8 months.. same spot and yes - she always sits like that)

Every weekday morning after her morning walk/jog she comes in, eats her breakfast and then heads for the master bedroom closet, if the door (a rare thing) is closed she stands there and barks one sharp bark and I run to open it. She goes to the very back where is nice and dark and quiet and sleeps until it's time to leave for work. She realizes that when I turn off the news, when I turn around she is standing there ready to leave.

On the weekends she just stays in bed until someone else gets up first.

Luv all the stories, one quirk it seems a lot of doodles have is the greeting with a toy....both of my doodles always meets company with something in their mouth to show them and if their isn't a toy around they grab anything, shoe, rocks, stick, anything lol  I only have a picture of one, Magnet showing me her favorite toy, her rings   This must their welcome sign ;)

Yep Luna does that one too.

Usually it's a Kong, and it's usually accompanied by LOTS of wookie noises.

Yes but WHY do they do this? They act like some elves dropped off new toys when we were gone!

Such an interesting doodle habit!  Trav doesn't greet with a toy, but he looks for one right after greeting.  That double ring is a cute toy.

Every night before we would go to bed, I would give Tori a frozen treat (her canned food shaped like a meatball). I would open the freezer door and she would RUN into her crate and just sit there. Well, poor thing... we recently took her crate down since she hasn't used it at all any more. But she still runs to where the crate used to be and sits there when she knows it's bedtime and she gets her treat! Of course DH and Sons think it's funny... my heart breaks for her! "They" think she doesn't feel bad.... I beg to differ!

Poor Tori Girl!! I would feel bad for her too!  Maybe you could put a little bed there for her? Something that would make it feel like bedtime again? You're such a good doodle mommy! :)

I know... MEAN Daddy and brothers!  I actually did move her bed there.  Great minds....I'm going to share this too... another (thing that made me say AWE).  so before the "mean brothers" took the crate downstairs, it was leaned up against an end table : / so it covered one side of the table... poor puppy would run to the other side of the table and get under and behind the crate... thinking she was IN the crate.  Just one of the reasons to leave the crate visible - she doesn't really go in it except for that!  LOL

That IS an awwww moment! Poor confused girl!  We finally took Tara's crate down a few weeks ago too! She was curious and a little confused but she had not been using it for months. I think it just takes a little time for them to adapt to the changes but in the meantime it is kind of heartbreaking to see them all confused! :(

Ah, that would make me feel bad for her too.  Such a sweet girl, just wanting to get a treat in the usual place...
