You say tomato I say...

So the first crop, and last, is in. This is the garden state but I really don't grow many veggies unless you count rhubarb, which we eat like a fruit. And then there are tomatoes, which are fruits but we eat like vegetables. What a confusing world. My so called vegetable garden consist mostly of phlox gone wild, with some berries, rudbeckia, Queen Anne's lace and other flowers thrown in. And many weeds. So I grow my tomatoes in pots near where it's easy to water them. I did also get one blackberry before the birds, yes one berry not one pint or something.

Thanks. Usually, though they taste great they don't look as good. Must be the weather, the five or so I've picked have been perfect.  It's raining, a nice steady soaker,  as I type.

F. it's so nice of you to go through all that trouble to feed the birds - lol!  Like Nancie said that is one beautiful tomato! I gave up a growing tomatoes when taking care of them wound up costing me more than my mortgage payment - having 2 brown thumbs probably didnt help.

I usually don't do so well myself. I bought one little 3 pack and they've gone to town. Tomatoes do like it hot.

WOW!! Now you need to make cucumber salad. I do make cukes and onions in some water with vinegar and a little sweetener. I like it.
